    I Got Hacked–What Do I Do

     

    Here you will learn what to do if you believe your account has been compromised.

    My Server or Account Was ‘Hacked’

    If you notice unusual or suspicious activity on your game server, you need to act quickly. Temporarily shut down the server to prevent further damage.

    What Should I Do Now?

    Change Passwords

    You can never predict exactly how an intruder could damage your server. They may have discovered the password for your Nitrado account or even a game-related account. Change all passwords immediately, including those for your game server, FTP access, and your Nitrado account.

     

    Have you shared your credentials with anyone recently? Nitrado never recommends sharing the credentials of your Nitrado account. If you have shared your credentials, change your password immediately! Also, contact Nitrado support (instructions below) to ensure all accounts are logged off.

    Change Email Addresses

    Do you feel your email is compromised, or would you like to switch to a more secure one? It is recommended to use an email that only you, the owner, have access to.

    If your email address has been compromised, change your email immediately!

    Review Admin List

    Next, review all of your administrators! Check your Guest Access Rights and change the admin password for your server.

    To ensure safe sharing of your Nitrado service, it is best to use the guest access rights. (Not available for console servers)

    Contact Nitrado Support

    Submit a ticket to Nitrado Support immediately if you believe your account has been hacked. Here are some helpful instructions on how to submit a ticket:
