    ARK: Survival Evolved Admin Log – How to Monitor Your Server

    Running an ARK: Survival Evolved server usually means handing out admin commands so someone can step in when a build goes wrong or a player needs a hand. That power is easiest to trust when there’s a record of who used it and when. In this Nitrado guide, we’ll show you how to enable the admin log on your server and where to review it afterward.

    Getting Started with the ARK Admin Log

    How to Enable the Admin Log on Your Server

    1. Log into your Nitrado.net account and open your Nitrado Web Interface.
    2. Stop the server, then navigate to Settings > General.
    3. Under the Admin Log section, check the box next to Enable Admin Log.

    1. If you also want admin actions to show up in the public in-game chat, check the box next to Admin public chat logging.
    2. Save your changes, then start the server.

    You can review the log using the server log file or the RCON command getgamelog. Note: RCON access is only available on PC servers. The server log itself can take a few minutes to refresh after you enable the setting.

     

    Note: Admin public chat logging is the same setting as AdminLogging in GameUserSettings.ini, under the [ServerSettings] section in Settings > Config Files. Set it to True to broadcast every admin command to the public in-game chat, or back to False to keep admin commands out of chat.

    Accessing ARK Logs in Your Server Files

    Once admin logging is active, the log itself lives in your server’s file storage.

    1. In your Nitrado Web Interface, open Tools > File Browser.
    2. Navigate to /arkse/ShooterGame/Saved/Logs/.
    3. Download or open the log files there. They record player actions, server actions, and every admin command that ran, and can take a few minutes to refresh.

    You can also review the log with an RCON tool such as ARKon.

    Protect Your Ark!

    With admin logging enabled, you always know which commands ran on your ARK: Survival Evolved server and who ran them. Check the log after any admin session, and let your fellow tribemates know their actions are on record!
