Connecting to a SCUM Gameserver

Set Your Server Name and Password First

Getting back onto your SCUM server starts with finding it in a crowded server browser, or skipping straight to it with a direct connection. In this Nitrado guide, we’ll show you how to connect to your SCUM server both ways: through the game’s server browser and by IP.

Before your friends can find your server, give it a name they’ll recognize. Open Settings > General in your Nitrado Web Interface and set the Server name, and the Server password if you want a private island. Stop the server first: SCUM only saves settings changes while it isn’t running.

Save your changes, then use the Restart server button to apply them.

Connect by Searching for Your Server

Launch SCUM and select Multi Play from the main menu.

Use the search field in the top right of the server browser to look up your server by name, or narrow the list with the Type, Region, Ping, and Activity filters.

1. Select your server from the list.
2. Click Connect.
3. Enter the password if the “Enter server password” prompt appears.

Connect Directly by IP

Skip the browser entirely with a direct connection. In your Nitrado Web Interface sidebar, find your server’s IP address alongside its Game port and Query port.

Enter that IP and the query port, which is always the game port plus 2, into the Connect to IP field on the server browser screen. On a server with a game port of 7877, for example, you’d enter 7879.

Welcome Back to the Island

With your server named, secured, and easy to find, getting back onto your island takes seconds, whether you search for it by name or connect straight by IP.
