CurseForge Launcher – How to Play Modded Minecraft

How To Install CurseForge Launcher

1. Head towards CurseForge and download the launcher.
   • We recommend “Download on Overworld”
2. After downloading, run the installer on your computer and wait.
3. When it’s finished, open the CurseForge App.
4. In the launcher, select Minecraft under “Choose a Game”
5. You’re finished – now you can install modpacks, create your own, etc..

Installing Modpacks on CurseForge

1. In the CurseForge App, select Minecraft on the left and click “Browse” at the top.
   
2. You can begin searching for various modpacks and versions of them.
3. When you find one, click the Install button on the right.
   
4. If you want a specific version of the modpack:
   • Click the modpack, then select Versions.
   • Find a version you want, then click the Install icon.
5. Wait for everything to finish downloading and installing.
   
6. When it’s done, you can begin playing it from the “My Modpacks” section.

How to Create a Custom Modpack on CurseForge

1. Open the CurseForge App, select Minecraft on the left and click “My Modpacks”.
2. Press Create at the top, then fill out the details of your custom modpack.
   
3. Wait for the files to download. Afterwards, click the new modpack profile.
4. Click the Add Content button, then search for mods to install on it.
   • The correct version and dependencies will be automatically downloaded.

   

5. When you’re finished, simply head back to the custom modpack and press Play.

Sharing Modpacks with Friends

For those who want to share a custom modpack with others, you will need to export it – then they will have to import it. Review the sections accordingly to learn more about the process.

How to Export a Modpack

1. In the CurseForge Launcher, find and click your custom modpack.
2. Click the three dots near the top right, then select Share Profile.
   
3. We recommend Export as a ZIP, as this will be a permanent method.
   • Alternatively, use a Profiler Code via signing into your CurseForge account.

   

4. Upon exporting, fill out the details and click Export at the bottom.
   
5. The file will be saved on your computer. Share this with your friends!

Importing a Custom Modpack

1. In the CurseForge App, click Import from the “My Modpacks” section.
2. Click Choose .zip file on the left, then select the exported modpack file on your PC.
   • Alternatively, enter the Profiler Code on the right.
3. It should automatically import everything, give it a few minutes.
4. If successful, you can begin playing the custom modpack.

Adjusting CurseForge Settings

In cases where you want to adjust the settings of your CurseForge App, such as the allocated memory, you will need to click the Gears icon in the bottom left corner. Afterwards, you can either edit general options or click Minecraft under Game Specific to begin customizing the memory, modding folder, etc.. When you’re finished, everything should be automatically applied.
