ARK Crossplay Basics

Your group of friends probably isn’t all playing ARK: Survival Evolved on the same device. Some are on Steam, some picked it up on Xbox, and someone else is chasing dinosaurs on a phone between meetings.

ARK supports crossplay so players on different platforms can join the same server, but support varies by platform and server type. In this Nitrado guide, we’ll show you which platforms support ARK crossplay and how to turn it on or off for your own ARK server.

Which Platforms Support ARK Crossplay?

ARK crossplay support depends on the type of server you’re running and the platform each player is on. PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and mobile each handle crossplay differently, so it’s worth checking each one before you invite your group.

ARK Crossplay on ARK PC Servers

ARK: Survival Evolved PC servers support crossplay between the Steam and Epic Games Launcher versions of the game. To play on an ARK PC server, you need to own ARK: Survival Evolved on either Steam or the Epic Games Launcher, then load and join your ARK server.

Your Nitrado Web Interface also includes a dedicated CrossPlay toggle for your PC server. Switching it on lets players on the Windows 10 version of ARK join you too. The Steam version of ARK does not support this particular crossplay feature.

How to Change ARK Crossplay on Servers

1. Log into your Web Interface and open your ARK server.
2. Click Settings, then select General to find the CrossPlay toggle.

1. Switch CrossPlay on or off, depending on which players you want to allow.
2. Press Save Changes, then restart your server to apply the new setting.

Note: Turning CrossPlay on allows players on the Windows 10 version of ARK to connect. The Steam version of ARK does not support this feature.

Android and iOS ARK Crossplay

ARK Mobile servers are a solid option for players who want to keep taming dinosaurs on the go, supporting crossplay between the iOS and Android versions of the game. As long as you have a mobile connection, your group can drop into your ARK Mobile server and explore its world together, wherever you are.

Xbox and Windows 10 ARK Cross-Platform

An ARK Xbox server supports cross-platform play between the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of ARK: Survival Evolved. ARK is included with Xbox Game Pass, so you and your friends can play together whether you’re on an Xbox console or on a Windows 10 PC running the Xbox app. Use the Nitrado Microsoft App on either device to start and manage your server.

Does PlayStation Support ARK Crossplay?

Neither the PlayStation 4 nor the PlayStation 5 versions of ARK: Survival Evolved support crossplay. If you order a PlayStation 4 ARK server, that server will only work with the PS4 console.

Selecting Your Server Platform with Nitrado

Picking the right platform at checkout matters just as much as your crossplay settings, since it decides which console family your server runs on from the start.

1. Go to the ARK: Survival Evolved order page.
2. Under Platform, choose PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Mobile to match your group.

This Platform selector on the order page is a separate control from the CrossPlay toggle covered above. The order page decides which console family your server runs on, while CrossPlay decides which client versions can connect to it once the server is live.
