Palworld Difficulty Settings – Server Guide

    Palworld Difficulty Settings – Introduction

In Palworld, you can choose the difficulty with which you want to face and start your adventure. While locally hosted Palworld servers have a specific section for difficulty, dedicated servers lack it. However, dedicated servers come with a variety of configurable options that allow you, through customization, to obtain the exact Palworld difficulty settings for venturing into this vast world of Palworld. For example, you can decide whether dying results in losing all items in your inventory or not, how quickly your hunger and stamina decrease, or how much probability you have to capture the pals. We will detail all of these and more for you below.

    Server Configurable Options

The options you can configure to personalize your server’s difficulty are mainly divided into Gameplay, options affecting the pals, and options affecting the player. Below, we’ll quickly explain how to access your web interface to make the necessary changes, which sections are of interest, and how changing the multipliers affects your gameplay.

    Web Interface

    1. Firstly, you’ll need to go to My Services, find your Palworld server, and click on the Web Interface button.

    2. Once on the web interface page, navigate to the Settings section under General, located on the left side of the page.

    3. Here’s where we will find the configurable options that interest us to change the Palworld difficulty settings of our server,

Below we break down each of them, briefly explaining what it affects within the game:

    Gameplay

    Day Time

Controls the speed at which the day passes in the game. This is a multiplier, so setting it to 2 will double the day duration. Setting it below 1 increases difficulty as players face colder nights, and pals work less.

    Night Time

Controls the speed at which the night passes in the game. Setting it to 0.5 will halve the night duration. Setting it above 1 increases difficulty as nights last longer, and players have less time for pals’ work.

    EXP Rate

Controls the rate at which players gain experience. Setting it to 2 doubles the experience gained. Setting it below 1 complicates the game as it takes longer to unlock technologies.

    Death Penalty

A dropdown menu with 4 options that decide what happens to your items when you die in the game, ranging from losing nothing to losing everything (inventory, equipment, and pals).

    Guild Player Max Num

It allows you to set a maximum number of players within a guild, very useful if you plan to make a server with numerous players and several teams competing against each other.

    Pals

    Pal Capture Rate

Controls the probability of players capturing pals when throwing spheres. Setting it below 1 makes it harder to catch pals.

    Pal Spawn Num Rate

Modifies the time it takes for pals to regenerate in the environment. Setting it below 1 makes it harder for players as pals take more time to reappear.

    Pal Egg Default Hatching Time

Specifies the hours it takes for a massive egg to hatch. Changing this time can either complicate or ease the gaming experience.

    Pal Damage Rate Attack

Changes the strength of pals in the server. Higher values make the game more difficult as pals inflict more damage.

    Pal Damage Rate Defense

Determines the defense of pals. Higher values mean pals can withstand more damage.

    Pal Stomach Decrease Rate

Controls how quickly pals get hungry. Increasing the multiplier makes pals hungry more often, complicating continuous work.

    Pal Stamina Decrease Rate

Controls how quickly pals consume stamina. Increasing the number makes pals lose stamina twice as fast.

    Pal Auto HP Regenerate

Controls how quickly pals regenerate HP. Doubling the number makes pals regenerate HP twice as fast.

Pal Auto HP Regenerate In Sleep

Controls how quickly pals regenerate HP in sleep. Doubling the number makes pals regenerate HP twice as fast.
