Palworld opens the doors to a world full of mysteries and places to explore. Dive into it and meet mysterious and adorable creatures that will become cherished companions in your adventure. When you first encounter the in-game map, it might seem a bit overwhelming. This can be extremely frustrating for newcomers and pros alike, as there are many locations of interest to keep in mind. Below, we’ve compiled some important points you should know, such as the types of biomes, points of interest, and more.
Within the immense map of Palworld, we can easily distinguish four major regions: the temperate zone, the desert zone, the volcanic zone, and the arctic zone. Each one of these has its own qualities, challenges, and unique pals waiting for you to discover. Let’s delve into each zone and uncover its mysteries and secrets.
This is the first region you encounter, featuring a moderate temperature where you don’t need special equipment to navigate day and night. A simple set of basic clothes is enough to move around comfortably without worrying about the cold. In this zone, you’ll find pals ranging from level 1 to 20, 2 biome bosses, 34 Alpha Pals and mini-bosses ranging from level 11 to 47.
Zoe & Grizzbolt (Lv.10)
Despite being the first biome boss you’ll face, Zoe & Grizzbolt have characteristics that could make you lose the battle if you’re not careful. It’s important to note that Grizzbolt is an electric type, which means it’s weak against earth types and strong against water types. So, it’s better to take precautions when choosing the companions for this battle. Another crucial point is to prioritize long-range attacks to prevent getting immobilized by its electric moves.
Lily & Lyleen (lvl. 25)
They will be tough opponents, being at level 25. Defeating them will reward you with 5 ancient technology points and an achievement. Keep in mind that Lyleen is a grass type, so it’s best to bring fire-type pals. Additionally, you’ll need the best armor and weapon you can craft. The basic strategy here is to dodge the bubble attacks. When they unleash a barrage of bubbles on your pal, it’s best to recall it to its sphere to avoid damage. When they attack you directly, seek refuge behind a pillar. Keep moving constantly and switch your pals when its HP is low.
Alpha Pals:
Located in the lower-left corner of the map, the volcanic zone features rising temperatures, requiring you to wear cooling clothes in this land of molten lava. The level in this zone increases, with pals ranging from levels 30 to 45 (considering Sanctuary Island No. 2). There’s only one biome boss and three Alpha Pals.
Axel & Orserk (Lv.40)
It’s the third biome boss you’ll have to face, Orserk is an electric/dragon type, making it a formidable enemy. It’s best to have a non-flying pal, and the most recommended pal is Anubis. You’ll need to stay close and constantly dodge its lightning attacks. Remember, you’ll need the best possible weapon and armor, or at least a metal armor and a giga shield.
Alpha Pals:
In the upper-middle part of the map, the arctic island awaits, with an extremely cold climate requiring specialized clothing for exploration. Pals in this zone range from level 30 to 50, featuring a biome boss within the syndicate tower and three Alpha Pals.
Victor & Shadowbeak (Lv.50)
The biome boss is the most powerful, making them a formidable pair of opponents that you’ll have to face at least at level 50 and having assigned all your stat points. Shadowbeak uses ice-type attacks, so you should avoid bringing dragon-type pals. As for weapons, it’s recommended to use the Rocket Launcher with at least 100 ready-to-use rockets, as you might need them all. During the battle, you’ll have to stay in constant motion and avoid getting hit by its abilities at all costs, they will freeze you and leave you open to more attacks.
Alpha Pals:
In the upper-right corner, the desert zone can be considered an endgame area due to powerful pals and extreme day-and-night temperatures. Pals in this biome are high-level, ranging from 40 to 50. Regardless of it the biome boss is not the most powerful, remaining at Lv. 45. This biome has one biome boss and five Alpha Pals.
Marcus & Feleris (Lv.45)
This is the only biome boss that spends a lot of time flying in the air, so the strategy to follow will have to be a bit different. When it comes to choosing pals, it’s highly recommended to use water types like Suzaku Aqua, Penking, and Relaxaurus. You will have to be very careful about recalling them to their spheres to dodge Feleris’ damage. The confrontation with this boss will have to be much more precise than with the previous ones since it could be a matter of a couple of mistakes that lead to defeat.
Alpha Pals:
In each region, the main environmental danger is the climate. While relatively easy to overcome, be attentive, as wearing the wrong clothes could cost you your life and endanger your progress. Certain saddles can protect you from the weather. Remember you don’t need to be mounted to receive the bonus. You only need to have the pal out of the sphere to continue receiving the bonus. This allows you to explore and gather materials without losing your mount’s bonus.
Pay attention to the level of the zone you’re exploring, as some pals may react aggressively. Remember some pals like to form small groups of around 6 or 7 pals. Groups of lower-level pals could end your adventure if you’re not careful. Enemy camps are also something to consider, as sometimes you don’t know when you enter the camp area. Entering a high-level camp could be deadly.
In Palworld, you’ll need to obtain minerals such as coal, stone, ore, sulfur, and pure quartz directly from the map. Below we will explain one by one the minerals that you can mine on the map and their uses.
Palladium is a base mineral crucial for crafting spheres in the Palworld universe. There are various ways to obtain it:
Essential for upgrading structures and crafting armor and weapons for both you and your pals. This mineral is found in different areas of the map. As abundant as it is necessary, it has a reddish-orange color.
Coal is a crucial resource for upgrading metal ingots within Palworld. You can mine it in caves and mountainous areas. There’s also a chance to obtain it by defeating Blazamut and Menasting. Coal veins have an intense black color.
Used to make gunpowder, a key resource for crafting ammunition throughout the game. It is rare and can be found in some challenging areas, almost exclusively in the volcano zone. Sulfur nodes have a yellowish color.
The primary use of pure quartz is in the crafting of circuit boards, which is needed in constructing precision weapons. Pure quartz can be found in the arctic zone, except for 6 nodes located in Frostbound Mountains(200,100). It has a black color and a distinctive silver crest.
Other resources like wood and fiber can be obtained by cutting down trees. As you level up, you can have a logging station in your base for wood and later a recycler to turn wood into fiber.
Palworld offers helpful locations such as traders, caves, respawn points, teleportation points, and more. Let’s briefly describe how these work:
The Traders are NPCs from whom we can obtain various resources such as materials, food, or even rare pals. Traders are divided into 2 categories:
Item Traders: These are NPCs with whom we can exchange goods for in-game currency or, conversely, buy things with in-game money.
Pal Traders:As the name suggests, this NPC allows us to buy and sell pals. Here, you can find some rare or hard-to-come-by pals.
Mysterious locations scattered throughout the map where you can find minerals, pals, and mini-bosses inside. Once you enter these dungeons, you have only 200 minutes to explore. After the time is up, the cave disappears and takes a long time to reappear. However, don’t worry because you’ll find around 128 caves to explore across the entire map.
There are 8 respawn points scattered across the map where you can revive after losing your life during your adventures in the world.
These are three small, very special islands. Likely artificially made. Here you can find different alpha pals roaming freely. However, you must be cautious as they are guarded by the PIDF, a group of heavily armed NPCs. The moment you enter, you receive a “criminal activity” warning, triggering them to attack you as soon as they spot you.
There are around 430 small green statues that you can collect throughout the map. These function as a currency to increase the probability of capturing pals.
They are tall towers where you will have to face a Biome boss to liberate the area from its tyranny. In addition, defeating it will earn you important ancient technology points to unlock vital technologies such as the pals’ incubator or the food bag.
In Palworld, you have two general forms of go around the map: teleportation towers and mounts.
These towers help you transport yourself quickly across the map. There are two ways to use it in Palworld: tower to tower or tower to pal box to one. You will have discovered it on the map before using it. There are 57 statues that we can use to move quickly across the map.
There are different pals that help in transportation. For them to be used as mounts, we need to build certain attachments. These pals can be of the flying, ground, or aquatic types, helping us move easily and swiftly across the map. Some of the best pals to use as mounts include:
Palworld presents a diverse and challenging world, but with the information provided, you can face it more securely.
