From the weathered town of Riverside with its scenic views, Valley Station with a large mall to explore, or the heavily fortified military settlement inside of March Ridge, there is plenty to explore with your friends and uncover. Viewing the Project Zomboid map, which can be done with the “M”-key while playing, there are a total of nine unique locations that range from cities to small towns, a trailer park, and a military settlement. Each location offers different benefits, with unique areas to explore in each as you traverse through the Project Zomboid map. We’ll explore each location in Knox Country and the best areas to explore while you’re there!

The large location in the Knox Country Project Zomboid map, Louisville is a densely populated metropolitan area that lies across the Ohio River along the border of the Knox Exclusion Zone. Being overrun by zombies, most of the city’s borders are sealed off due to the Knox Event from when the zombie outbreak began. Louisville offers many buildings to explore as you adventure including LBMW – Kentucky Radio Building, LBMW Network Building, St. Peregrin Hospital, Louisville Border Camp, Louisville Police Department, Louisville Expo Center, Spiffo’s Headquarters, Art Gallery of Louisville, Fossoil Refinery, Ready Prep Army Issue Surplus, Louisville General Hospital, Louisville Medical Center, Louisville Fire Department, Louisville Train Station, Louisville State University, Fossoil Field, and the Triple-N Network Building.
Valley Station is a scattered town located across the Ohio River on the southeast part of the Project Zomboid map. This town features a large shopping center, Crossroads Mall, along with a Race Track, Shooting Range, StarEPlex Cinema, and the Knob Creek Hunting Lodge.
Surrounded by farmland, Ekron is a rural town with scattered houses at the center of Knox Country, including a lake on the southeast side. Inside this small town, you can find Farming & Rural Supply, a Doctor’s Office, a Police Station, Town Hall, and E.P. Tools for all your handy needs and resources.
Located along the Dixie Highway in Project Zomboid next to Muldraugh, KY, Dixie Mobile Park is a small trailer park community you can find and explore. Inside Dixie Mobile Park, you can find some useful resources and areas including the Food Market, Diner, Filling Station, Laundromat, Barg-n-Clothes, Gas 2 Go, Spiffo’s, and Nolan’s Used Cars.
March Ridge is located in the southwest of Knox Country, being a gated military settlement with many tenement buildings that are surrounded by forests. While inside March Ridge, you can find March Ridge Dormitory, March Ridge Community Center, Family Medical Center, Pharmahug, March Ridge Elementary School, and the StarEPlex Cinema.
During your exploration into the world of Project Zomboid, vicious zombies are always lurking and so being prepared ensures you will survive. Exploring every area, warehouses, pharmacies, police stations, and other buildings will get you and your friends better gear, resources, and weapons to take on the undead and make your way across the map.
