    User Administration for 7 Days to Die

    User Administration for 7 Days to Die

    Become an administrator on your 7 Days to Die server in just a few steps 🔥
    Customize permission levels for unmatched control – your server, your rules!

    How to Add Admins in 7 Days to Die

    1. Head towards your Nitrado Webinterface, then click Settings > Config Files on the left.
      Nitrado 7 Days to Die Config Files
    2. Select serveradmin.xml from the files, then locate <adminTools> in the editor.
      Nitrado 7 Days to Die Serveradmin.xml
    3. Proceed to copy & paste the following under the <users> section of the config:
      <user platform="Steam" userid="SteamID64" name="Username" permission_level="0" />
      Nitrado 7 Days to Die Add Admins
      You can already see examples in the file, you can create a new line to paste the code.
    4. Find the SteamID64 of the player you want to become admin via SteamID/IO.
    5. Copy & paste it in the userid field. Enter the username in the name field too.
    6. Assign a permission level to the new admin player, ranging from 0 – 1000.
      Nitrado 7 Days to Die Admin Guide
      Example: <user platform="Steam" userid="748215936407582319" name="Player" permission_level="1000" />
    7. Repeat this process for any admins you want to add for your 7 Days to Die server.
    8. Save changes and restart the server to recognize these new administrators.

    Console Setup

    It’s the same as the above process, but with some slight differences. Here’s a breakdown:

    Platform

    • Epic: “EOS”
    • Xbox: “XBL”
    • PlayStation: “PSN”

    User ID
    Each player on Epic, Xbox, or PlayStation, will have to check their User ID via the server logs.
    Have them join the 7 Days to Die server, then take a look in the logs for the ID.

    After setting it up in the serveradmin.xml file, you will have something like this:
    <user platform="EOS" userid="abcdef1234567890abcdef1234567890" permission_level="1" />

    Note: You don’t need a name field for this to work – same for Steam platforms too.

    Editing Permissions

    1. While editing the same configuration file, look for the <commands> section.
    2. Copy & paste the following on a new line:
      <permission cmd="Command" permission_level="0" />
    3. Change the cmd field to what you want, such as “kick” and set the permission level.
      Nitrado 7 Days to Die Permission Config File
      Example: <permission cmd="kick" permission_level="10" />
    4. Repeat this process for any commands you want, then save the changes.
    5. Restart the server to apply the new permission levels.

    Whitelist Setup

    If you add a player to the whitelist, it will automatically be enabled. Example:

    <whitelisted steamID="748215936407582319" permission_level="0" />

    When you enter that in serveradmin.xml, no one else can join unless they are on the list.

    Blacklist Setup

    You will need to specify the unban date – which determines the ban length. Example:

    <blacklisted steamID="748215936407582319" unbandate="1/10/2026 9:00:01 PM" />

    The player who is banned will need to wait until that specified date arrives, down to the second.
