Whitelist for Your DayZ PC Server

Whitelist for Your DayZ PC Server

Here, you will learn how to create a whitelist for your server.

How to Obtain a Player UID

    • To add a player to the whitelist, you will need their UID, a 44-character-long ID.
    • You can find the UID in the .ADM or .RPT logs under Information > Log Files in your Nitrado Web Interface.
    • You can also find UIDs with the File Browser. Select Tools > File Browser in the left-hand menu.

File Browser selected under Tools in the Nitrado Web Interface

    • Open the dayzstandalone folder, then open logs. Every .ADM and .RPT file created during your server’s history sits in there.

Creating a Whitelist With the General Settings (Expert Mode Disabled)

    • Select Settings > General in the left-hand menu.

General selected under Settings in the Nitrado Web Interface

    • Stop your server before you turn the whitelist on.
    • Find the Whitelist switch in the Base settings panel and turn it on.

    • Find the Whitelisted Players box in the same Base settings panel, directly under Mission. It carries its own instructions.

    • Add one UID per line. Once you’re done, save your changes and restart the server. Now, only whitelisted players will be able to connect.

Pro Tip: the Search for settings box at the top of the page filters every setting. Type whitelist to jump straight to both fields.

Creating a Whitelist With Expert Mode Enabled

    • Stop your server before you turn the whitelist on.
    • With Expert Mode active, some Web Interface fields are switched off and you edit the configuration files directly instead. The switch sits in the Config mode panel at the top of Settings > General.

    • Select Settings > Config Files, pick serverDZ.cfg from the file selector, and find the enableWhitelist line. Change its value to 1.

    • Select Save changes.
    • To edit the whitelist itself, stay in Settings > Config Files and pick whitelist.txt from the file selector.

    • You can also reach the file through Tools > File Browser. It sits in the root of the dayzstandalone folder.
