As you begin your journey in the facility, collecting resources is the first step towards surviving against the odds. Players must search far and wide for specific items, such as food, weapons, or ingredients to make new materials. These resources are located in file cabinets, trash cans, desks, boxes, and many other containers. Occasionally, you’re able to break equipment down for raw materials – coming in handy when searching for computer components.

Fighting Monsters

Early on in the gameplay, you will be faced with small and large monsters that spawn from anomalies. These can happen anywhere, so be cautious exploring new areas or even nearby your base. Each creature will have its own unique way to fight players, with some leaping towards you and others charging with explosive power. We strongly recommend using nets to temporarily stop them – allowing you to swing or stomp them.
 

Base Building

Players adventuring in their Abiotic Factor server will need to settle down eventually, as it serves to protect and restore your character. You need to manage storage, crafting stations, rest, hunger, and thirst. Having a well-made base with all your necessities met results in greater survival odds. Anywhere can serve as your home, but choose one that is secluded, protected, and has a nearby energy outlet. Creating multiple bases might be the best plan too.
 

Exploration

One major feature of Abiotic Factor is its exploration, as there are tons of areas to discover – including a multitude of levels. Many of the doors will be locked or not powered, so you must get creative to access them. Following the main objectives in-game is a great way to reach these locations. Otherwise, you might get lost and confused! Having friends around will help this process, as it can get pretty hectic without them.
