What do I get when booking a Hytale server?

You will get a dedicated Hytale server fully under your control to start your adventure. Whether exploring with friends or hosting a creative community, you get instant access, DDoS protection, daily backups, and full admin rights — all managed via an easy-to-use dashboard. Hytale is an Early Access title. As the game is in active development, you may encounter bugs or gameplay changes on the road to full release as mentioned by the studio in their blog posts.

How much RAM do I need?

The required RAM for a server is influenced by several factors, including playstyle, the number of players, and whether mods are used or not. Our current recommendations are based on providing a positive experience with the unmodded version of the game. Since the game is still in Early Access, these recommendations are subject to change. You can adjust your server's RAM after launch to match your desired performance. There is no hard slot limit, allowing you to invite as many friends as you like, though remember that increased player count will require potentially more RAM. Due to technical limitations, the maximum number of players is capped at 200.

Why is game switching NOT supported?

Due to the specialized hosting setup required for Hytale, switching this server to a different game is NOT possible.

Which platforms are supported?

At launch, Hytale is available exclusively on PC (Windows). The developers are exploring potential support for Mac and Linux. Console versions are not planned for launch. As a result, Crossplay is currently not available.

Are mods supported?

Absolutely. Nitrado makes it easy for you to install and manage asset packs and plugins, and we even provide some useful default plugins to get you started.

How is the view distance managed on the server?

The game is optimized for a view distance of 384, which equals 12 chunks on the server. To ensure stability, this is currently also the maximum cap on our system. However, you have the option to choose lower values to improve server performance.

Are backups included, and how can I restore my server if something goes wrong?

Yes, we provide free automated daily backups of your server. If needed, you can restore a backup via the web interface to revert your server to the exact state of that saved snapshot, including world data and settings.

Can I make my server private or control who can join?

You have complete control over who accesses your server. You can either protect it with a password or leave it open for anyone to join. For more granular control, you can manage permissions, whitelists, and blacklists via our web interface.

How do I reset or wipe my server if something goes wrong?

You can reset your server at any time through the web interface using the reinstall option. If something is broken with a specific world or player, the respective data can be accessed via our file browser and reset.
