Frequently asked questions

Yes! You can set up any compatible mods on your RedM server, along with having complete access to the files for quick management. In cases where mods require a MySQL database, that can also be easily configured.

You can have up to 600 player slots on your RedM Nitrado server after setting up a registration key with the Cfx.re Portal. More than 48 slots require a paid subscription through Cfx.re Portal. If you get a subscription, all the server registration keys active on your account will be granted with the perks corresponding to the tier you picked on the Cfx.re Portal Subscription page. You can find more information about it via https://portal.cfx.re/subscriptions.

First, you'll need Red Dead Redemption 2 and the RedM client installed on your computer. Your server also requires a Server Registration Key to start and appear online. You can generate this key by visiting the Cfx.re Portal and then entering the key into your Nitrado web interface. Generating this key is free, and servers with up to 48 players do not require a paid subscription from Cfx.re. For more information on Cfx.re subscriptions, visit their portal: https://portal.cfx.re/subscriptions. Once the key is added and your server is configured, you can connect to it using the RedM client.

No. RedM is only available for PC and does not work with consoles or other platforms.

Your RedM server comes with txAdmin enabled by default, which is a web interface for managing many settings. If you prefer, you can disable txAdmin and use standard configuration files instead.

A database isn’t required for a generalized RedM server hosting experience, but is recommended for more advanced setups. With Nitrado you will have automatically quick and easy access to MySQL, if you need it.

Once a new update is released, your Nitrado RedM server will automatically be updated. You will not need to manually update the server!
