Rust Console Edition Server Hosting PS5

Frequently asked questions

When you book a Rust Console Edition server, you get your own dedicated server—a private game world that you fully control. You can use it to play with friends, host a community, or open it up as a public server for anyone to join. Your package includes the number of player slots you choose, full admin control, customizable gameplay settings, map presets, access control (such as making your server private or password-protected), built-in DDoS protection, free daily automated backups, and instant setup so your server is ready within minutes. All of this is managed through an easy-to-use control panel with no technical knowledge required.

No, we only offer servers for the new-gen version of Rust Console Edition, which is supported on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players using an old-gen client will not be able to join these servers. The new-gen version provides improved performance, greater stability, and cross-play between PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

As server owner, you can change your server settings at any time through the web interface. Changes made here will apply after the next server restart. If you want to make changes while the server’s running, you can use Live Console commands. They take effect right away but will reset when the server restarts. You can use the custom boot command to make these changes persistent across restarts. A full list of available commands can be found here: https://rust-console-edition.gitbook.io/rust-console-edition-community-servers

Yes, Rust Console Edition servers support cross-platform play between these consoles.

Mods are not officially supported on Rust Console Edition, so custom plugins or mods cannot be used. RCON is currently not available, which means third-party remote command tools are not supported. However, you can still run server commands and manage settings using the built-in Live Console in the server control panel. A full list of commands can be found here: https://rust-console-edition.gitbook.io/rust-console-edition-community-servers

Due to the specialized hosting setup required for Rust Console Edition, game switching to or from this game is NOT possible.

Yes, we provide free automated daily backups of your server. If needed, you can restore a backup via the web interface to set your server back to the exact state of that saved snapshot, including world data and settings.

You can wipe your server at any time through the web interface dashboard. There are four types of wipes available: map, save data, blueprints, or a full wipe. Wipes are not automatic by default, but you can schedule them using the Automated Tasks menu in the dashboard. While there’s no required wipe schedule, we recommend wiping once a month to keep the experience fresh. Also, keep in mind that certain official game updates may require a force wipe depending on what changes are introduced by the developers.

You have complete control over who can access your server. You can either protect it with a password or leave it open for anyone to join. For more granular control, you can use the Live Console in the web interface to manage roles, create whitelists, and ban players using server commands.

If your server runtime ends, you typically have a grace period of up to 10 days depending on your original booking. During this time, your server’s save games and settings are safely retained. If you choose to restore your server within the grace period, everything will be restored just as it was, no data lost.
