ARK: Survival Ascended – The Island Artifact Locations
In the universe of ARK: Survival Ascended, there are special objects that allow you to summon powerful bosses. These objects are called artifacts, which are scattered throughout caves in the world. These are required for summoning bosses, making them useful for the late-game when you and others have powerful equipment. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find all of the artifacts in ARK on The Island map so you can quickly acquire them. Let’s begin to discover each one!
Artifacts
Massive
LAT:70.6 LON: 86.1
This artifact is necessary to summon the Broodmother. At the entrance of this small cave, you will find some vegetation hanging from the ceiling, indicating it is the correct cave.
Upon entering, proceed straight, staying as close to the right wall as possible, and always take the right path if the way divides. Remember to be well-prepared with antidotes as you will encounter many poisonous dinos. At the end, you will find the Massive artifact.
Hunter
LAT:80.3 LON: 53.5
This artifact is necessary to summon the Broodmother. You will find the entrance to the cave at the base of a small canyon.
Upon entering the cave, proceed straight but always take the left path when the way divides. Remember to come prepared as you will encounter many dinos, and the narrow paths in this cave make combat difficult. At the end, you will find the Hunter artifact.
Clever
LAT: 41.5 LON:46.9
This artifact is necessary to summon the Broodmother. The entrance is at the base of a small mountain.
Similar to the Massive artifact cave, proceed inside the cave staying to the right side and always taking the right path when the way divides. At the end, you will find the Clever artifact.
Pack
LAT: 68.2 LON: 56.2
This artifact is necessary to summon the Megapithecus. The entrance is located between two mountainous walls, one small in the shape of an arch and the other larger. The entrance to the cave is in the larger wall.
To traverse this cave, you will need a grappling hook crossbow. The path is a bit more complicated, so follow these turns:
- Left
- Right
- Right
- Left
- Right
You will then find a large stone structure with notes inside. Follow the stairs to a small clearing with a lake. Use the grappling hook to reach a small cave by aiming at three triangular-shaped stones. Follow the glowing mushrooms to find the Pack artifact.
Devourer
LAT:14.7 LON:85.4
This artifact is necessary to summon the Megapithecus. This cave is located on Carnivore Island. It is crucial to bring a grappling hook crossbow.
Enter the cave and follow the single path until it opens up. Turn left and find a small lake. Dive to the bottom, follow the blue crystals and exit the water. Then head right to a small precipice, use the grappling hook to descend, and find a pink area within a small structure where the Devourer artifact is located.
Brute
LAT: 53.7 LON: 10.4
This artifact is necessary to summon the Megapithecus. This cave is underwater, so it is recommended to bring a good aquatic dino like the Basilosaurus or the Tusoteuthis due to the large number of jellyfish inside. Before entering the sea, face the obelisk and descend vertically to find the cave illuminated with algae and crystals.
Inside the cave, follow the path until you reach yellow algae that divide the way. Turn left, stay close to the left wall, and continue swimming underwater until you find the artifact surrounded by yellow algae.
Skylord
LAT:19.3 LON:19.0
This artifact is necessary to summon the Dragon. It is located in the snowy area on a cliff wall. It is advisable to bring sleeping bags, weapons, and a grappling hook crossbow.
Enter the cave, follow the path straight until you hit some crystals, then turn right. A bit further ahead, the path divides, take the right path. At the next division, take the left path, follow the natural path of the cave, then turn left again until you reach a large division. Take the right path, continue until the second division where you can hear the artifact. Both paths lead to it, but the shorter path is to the left.
Immune
LAT:62.7 LON: 37.3
This artifact is necessary to summon the Dragon. This cave is located in the Redwood Forest. It is vital to bring a gas mask and a toad mount, preferably one with high damage to ease your way through the cave.
Enter and follow the natural path of the cave until you reach some water. Turn left, continue following the path until you find a small stream, cross it, and go straight ahead without taking any side paths. Keep moving along the right wall until you reach a large chamber. Take the left wall of the cave, follow it around the chamber until you reach a bifurcation with a teck wall. Follow the increasingly narrow path until you reach the Immune artifact.
Strong
LAT:29.1 LON:31.8
This artifact is necessary to summon the Dragon. This cave is located in the snowy area, and its entrance looks like part of a glacier. It is recommended to bring several sleeping bags due to the cave’s large extension.
Enter and stay close to the left wall until you find a small stream, cross it, and continue straight until you reach a wall. Turn right, proceed to the second stream, take the left path, and continue until you reach a third room.
Follow the left wall until you reach a teck structure, circle it on the right side of the cave, and break the crystals to pass. Follow the natural path until you reach a bifurcation with water, take the right path until you reach another room. Descend on the left side, then move to the right side of the room and follow the right wall. Reach a wall, turn left, and proceed straight until you hit another wall. Turn left again and break another set of crystals. Follow the left path until you find a monkey statue where the Strong artifact is located.
Cunning
LAT:45.9 LON: 88.9
This artifact is necessary to summon the Dragon. This cave is underwater, so it is recommended to bring a good aquatic dino like the Basilosaurus or the Tusoteuthis. Enter from the beach, swim a bit offshore, then descend to find the cave entrance.
Turn right upon entering and follow the cave path. As it begins to open up, look for the lowest part of the cave until you find a teck structure. Turn right and descend through the tunnel, follow it to find the Cunning artifact.
