New product: Nitrado Cloud Server available July 2017

The Nitrado Cloud Servers will be available starting July 2017, after two years of development.

They will provide the perfect platform for beginners as well as advanced administrators to choose their computing needs and use it for their own server applications.

After a two-year development period, the Nitrado Public Cloud is ready. It is a combination of enormous computing capacity and the greatest possible flexibility and extensibility. That includes hard disk and/or SSD storage, memory, CPU's and, of course, an internet connection.

The first emerging product, the "Cloud Server", is a virtual server, often called "vServer", "VPS", or "Virtual Private Root Server", which refers to resources from this public cloud. The access to the administration of these servers is usually via SSH on Linux servers, or Remote Desktop (RDP) on Windows Servers. Any applications may be installed on this product, without any limits, be it a game server, a web server, a database, you name it.

Top Class Virtual Servers

With true KVM virtualization and high-performance 3PAR SSD memory from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), it is guaranteed that the chosen computing capacity is always available. Like the game servers, Cloud Server will benefit from the DDoS-protected, low latency, premium traffic with direct connections to all important Internet nodes and providers. A host of different Linux distributions, as well as Windows Server 2012 and 2016 will be available from launch.

In order to ensure the highest possible quality, two major beta tests have been carried out over the last few months. All feedback was instrumental in helping us provide reliable, highly-available, fast, and easy-to-manage servers.

In the next few weeks, the Nitrado Cloud Team will also be working on features that make managing your own server child's play.

Full Flexibility at All Times

A server can be flexibly configured with different choices based on need:

  • Number of vCores (1 – 44 Cores)
  • RAM (512MB - 128GB)
  • SSD Storage (20GB – 5TB)
  • Flat-rate Traffic included - up to 10Gbit/s Ultra Speed Traffic (2-20TB) available
  • Backups (0-4 available)
  • Operating System (various Linux Distributions, as well as Windows Servers)

Additionally, two different products are distinguished: "Cloud Server" and "Cloud Server Dynamic".

The "Dynamic" addition allows the server to be rented per day. Resources can be added or removed at any time. On removal, the corresponding residual value is credited to the Nitrado account. Thus, the full flexibility is available, even if the demand changes short term.

The normal "Cloud Server" is designed for long-term projects and correspondingly more favorable with longer running times (at least 30 days). Downgrades are, of course, possible, but only 50% of the residual value is remunerated.

With this comprehensive offer, a custom-tailored server can be selected and used for your own project(s).

Stay tuned!

Until the release of the new product, we will regularly publish more details in new articles. In the next article, we will discuss the hardware and software that make up the heart of the Nitrado Public Cloud.
