How to Join a 7 Days to Die Server

1. Launch 7 Days to Die, then click Play Game from the main menu.
   
2. Select Join a Game at the top and click Connect to IP at the bottom.
   
3. Enter your Server IP and Port in the fields, then click Connect.
   
4. If successful, you will begin loading in your server!

 
You can also try to join via Steam Game Servers or searching your server name in-game if you’re having issues in-game.

Troubleshooting Issues

In some cases, you and others alike can run into connection issues. Before you contact support, review possible solutions and troubleshooting methods – this can help you identify the issue or resolve it. For example, restoring a backup from a previous save file can do the trick.

Log Files

Navigate to your Nitrado Web Interface, then click “Information” and select “Log Files” to start. Look for messages like:

• Connection timed out
• Failed loading region
• Exception while loading world

 
Error messages similar to these can be the reason why you’re unable to join the server. In some cases, they won’t say exactly what caused the problem. It’s important to keep track of these regardless, as they can still contain useful information.

Region Files

If certain areas of the world are corrupted, the server may fail to load or allow connections. You can locate the problematic file(s) via the log files. Head towards your web interface and click “Tools”, then select “File Browser” to access the server files. Afterwards:

• Go to this directory: /7daystodie/Saves/[GameWorld]/[SaveName]/Region/
• Identify and remove the faulty .7rg file shown in your logs.
• Restart the server to regenerate the region.

 
⚠️ Removing a region file may delete builds in that area.

Restore Backup

If the server remains unplayable, restoring a backup is the safest option:

• Open Backups from the Nitrado Web Interface.
• Select a backup from before the issue started.
• Click Restore and restart the server.
