During your fights for survival, it can often be difficult to gear up enough to stay alive which can lead to frustration. You can help this by using DayZ admin commands on your server!

    Admin commands in DayZ offer you the ability to take full control of your server and players. Whether you need to ban a rogue player off of your server or select a new mission for you and your friends. To use admin commands on your server, you only need your server’s admin password and a few seconds to type the commands on your server. In this guide, we’ll show you how to find that password, gain DayZ admin, and the commands you can use on your DayZ game server!

    Getting Started with DayZ Admin Commands

    How to Become a DayZ Admin on Your Server

    • Head to your DayZ server webinterface and stop your server.
    • Next, to the left under “Settings”, click “Config Files”.

      1. Use the dropdown to edit the serverDZ.cfg DayZ server file.

    • Then, in that file locate the passwordAdmin = “PASSWORD”; line. You can edit this to set your own server admin password, such as “epicDayZservers”.

    • You can now press “Save changes”.
    • After that, join your DayZ server and open the in-game chat.
    • Finally, type #login PASSWORD to become an admin on your DayZ server.

    Now that you’re a DayZ server admin, you’re ready to use commands!

    Using DayZ Commands

    On DayZ, you can type commands into the regular in-game chat. You can access this by pressing /, the default key to open chat. Once you’re in chat, commands are prefixed with a #. Here are a few examples of different commands usable in chat:

    • #login password
    • #kick ID
    • #userlist

    #vote kick (name, ID or Player#) Players can vote to kick another player off the server. #vote kick nickName
    #userlist Provides a list of all players on the server. #userlist

    DayZ Admin Commands

    Command Description Example
    #login <password> Used to login as a DayZ admin. #login adminPW
    #logout Logs out of admin access on the server. #logout
    #shutdown Usable to instantly turn off the server. #shutdown
    #init Reloads your server configuration. #init
    #exec ban <name, ID or Player#> Executes a player ban of the name, ID, or player# that you provide. #exec ban nickName
    #kick <name, ID or Player#> Kicks the specified player off of your server. #kick nickName
    #monitor <Interval in Seconds> Displays information about the performance on the server. #monitor 5
    #debug <Interval in Seconds> Sets a debug interval for your server. The default interval is 10. #debug 30
    #debug off Deactivates the debug. #debug off
    #debug <Option> <Parameter> Disables automatic game/server backups. #debug checkFile expansion\Dta\ui.pbo
    #debug <Option> The usable commands are:
    Console (send to submitter what’s on server console, works as DebugAnswer for all writes into the console),
    von (outputs into logFile defined in server.cfg as e.g. logFile=server_console.log”;)    		 #debug von

    #beclient guid Shows your own BE GUID.
