    Palworld Death Penalty Server Settings

The Death Penalty setting decides what a player loses when their character dies on your Palworld server. On a new server it’s set to the harshest option, which drops items, equipment, and Pals all at once. Many admins loosen it for a more casual playstyle, or tighten it further for a hardcore challenge run. In this Nitrado guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find the Death Penalty setting and what each option does.

Where to Find the Death Penalty Setting

You’ll find the Death Penalty setting on the Gameplay section in your Nitrado Web Interface. From My Services, open your Palworld server and click Web Interface, then go to Settings > General to reach the Gameplay section. Death Penalty sits near the top, alongside hardcore behavior, day and night speed, and experience gain. It defaults to “Lose items, equipment and pal (in inventory)”.

We recommend stopping your server before changing configuration settings like this one, then restarting it once you’ve saved your changes.

What Each Death Penalty Option Does

The Death Penalty setting shows the full set of options for what happens when a player dies.

    Palworld Death Penalty setting options

    Three levels are available

    • None is the lightest touch: die and you keep everything you’re carrying.
    • Item is the middle ground: your inventory empties out, but whatever you had equipped stays with you.
    • All is the harshest of the three, wiping your inventory, your equipped gear, and every Pal on your active team in one go.

    Set the Stakes

You’ve located the Death Penalty setting in your Nitrado Web Interface and chosen how much your Palworld server punishes a fall, from a forgiving None to the full loss of All. Save your changes and restart your server to apply them, then invite your friends back in to see how the new stakes change the game.
