ROKH - Development Status Update

ROKH - Development Status Receives an Update

The developers of the exciting space game, Rohk, have been hard at work. Together with Red Kite Games, the team has really been digging away over the past 4 weeks. The developers have managed to produce both a client and server build that can connect to each other. These builds will have different forms for different configurations. The build can also attach a debugger to reproduce errors. This will also help with identifying difficulties as well. The primary focus on the network side has been building and running local servers to track down difficulties that may present themselves. A goal and mindset to build a codebase and understanding of the server architecture.

Here are some main highlights from this update:

  • The game crashes at resume when spending a larger amount of time in the server lobby.
  • Game engine crashed after spending several minutes on the screen.
  • The game crashed while exploring the map.
  • The game freezes when using “Alt + Tab” keys to switch to another program.

We will leave off with a word from the developers about improving the development status:

Finally part of the team spent some time to improve the development status of the build. For instance, initially, the time to build the project was about the 90 min. It has now been reduced to 45 min and still generates a logs file of 250Mb full of ‘warnings” for us to correct. This will help us greatly to increase our build generation and testing process.

We will have a first test build available for our NDA group of testers at the end of next week. While you guys will test and report bugs, we will finish drafting our roadmap of correction and tests for the month of December.

Thank you all for your amazing support and patience.
