FARMING SIMULATOR 17 – PETA WANTS REALTISTIC PIG FARMING

PETA WANTS THE SLAUGHTERING OF PIGS IN FARMING SIMULATOR 17 TO INCLUDE GRAPHIC PIG-SLAUGHTER FOOTAGE

In a letter from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), Giants Software was urged to portray a realistic slaughter of pigs in the Farming Simulator 17.  The purpose is to give the player a realistic picture of agricultural activities.

“Farming Simulator 17 should either show the nightmarish reality endured by pigs at the abattoir or change into Vegan Farming Simulator 17 and let players grow crops – to do anything else would be dishonest". PETA also mentioned the following in a press release: “to give players an accurate depiction of the industry, the game will need to show that pigs are killed by being hung upside down, stabbed, and dropped into scalding-hot water.”

Some may agree that PETA has a point, but the question of how much reality is necessary in a game, still remains.
