The Forest - New Patch

The eerie survival game, The Forest, has received another patch. In addition to bug fixes, there are some new features.

The current patch for The Forest adds some features that are quite new. This includes a mount for your favorite weapon that does not require a wall to be placed. Explosive traps can be triggered by projectiles, the deadfall trap now has a larger area of influence (higher catching chances) and you can destroy the fires without having to first light them.

Many textures and 3D models have also been reworked. This includes the appearances of opponents, some plants, as well as the turtle armor added last update. The landscape has also been improved and a number of sound effects have been polished. Further, the animations have received a general overhaul. Now, when you swiftly switch between weapons or equipment, objects shouldn't overlap anymore.

On the basis of the feedback from the community, the status page has changed a bit and the style is a bit easier to take in.

Bug Fixes:

  • Dead lizards reduced the framerate rapidly and often led to the crash of the game, especially during caves
  • In the multiplayer, sharks should be found
  • Fixed many problems with synchronism in the MP
  • Some materials have not been displayed correctly, or Items for other players are not displayed
  • Trees did not grow on dedicated servers
  • The container to catch rainwater did not do this with some players
  • Dedicated servers now have a working option for admins to kick and ban players
