  1. Start the Project Zomboid game and then press the “Host” option in the main menu.

  2. In the “HOST GAME” area, next to “Server name:” click on the “Manage settings…” option.

  3. In the “Manage Server Settings” area, press “Create New Settings” to begin creating the settings for your own Project Zomboid PC server.
  4. Enter a name for the server and then press “NEXT”.
  5. You can now begin changing more specific settings of the game including the description, public, backup options, player and admin settings, loot, vehicle speed limit, mods, and many other settings.

  6. After making adjustments to those settings, press “SAVE” at the bottom to create that settings server profile.

  7. Back at the “Manage Server Settings” section, press “BACK” in the bottom left.
  8. Select the settings server profile you created, select how much of your PC’s memory(RAM) you wish to use for the server, and then click “START” at the bottom right to start the Project Zomboid PC server.

  9. The server will begin initializing and then you will automatically join the server.
  10. You can now have players join your server!
    1. You can have players join directly through IP address by giving them the IP address included in the “ServerToolbox” that appears on your screen after you join along with the port saved in your settings from step #5.

    2. Alternatively, you can directly invite your friends to the server by going to the pause menu and pressing the “INVITE FRIENDS” option.

  11. You can now begin playing with your friends on your own self-hosted Project Zomboid PC server!
