Q&A

Get to know John from North Station a bit better with these questions and Answers!

  • Everyone on the internet has a story of where their name came from, what's the story behind "North_Station"?
    • My pseudonym "North_Station" is composed of two-word components. "North" stands for my synth gothic rock band I sing for, "Northpolyptica". I chose "Station" because three years ago when I started streaming, I streamed exclusively from the Play Station 4. In the meantime, I've been switching to the PC for a long time, but the name is left over and will probably remain as a reminder of my beginnings.
  • Many gamers started from childhood, what is the earliest gaming memory you have?
    • Most memorable is the series "Kingdom Hearts" as one of the games that have shaped me enormously. No other game conveys the values of friendship and courage so much.
  • Nitrado is partnered with hundreds of Content Creators, Modders, and Developers, how are you finding your partnership with Nitrado?
    • My partnership with Nitrado allows me to do a lot of different multiplayer projects within my community. My own community servers strengthen the cohesion among my viewers even more. Even when I'm not online, my community plays on Nitrado's servers and gets to know each other better - that's great!
  • Collaboration is a cornerstone of growing some channels if you could collaborate with anybody, who would it be and why?
    • While I could make it easy on this question and just call the big ones - Gronkh, Sarazar, and so on - but much more I would like to meet streamers who are really bringing similar content to me, about my level, and my attitude towards streaming as an entertainment activity on behalf of viewers. I would like to work with streamers who, like me, have a great variety of games in the program and communicating viewers in chat.
  • Everyone has a favorite game or a game they'll always come back to, what's that game for you? ng
    • I have a lot of favorite games of different genres. I was particularly influenced by the franchise for "Kingdom Hearts", which I recently started again and play with my community in the stream. Also "Shadow of Rome" is one of my favorites. Besides, I'm a huge fan of "Silent Hill".

  • If you found a magic orb, that granted 3 wishes, what would they be?
    • A lot of money, a higher range, and three more wishes.
  • New content creators are starting all the time, what's some advice you would give them that you wish you'd known when you started?
    • I think it's most important not to choose the easiest and fastest way to stream. To limit oneself in the game selection by resorting only to popular, triple-A or the most well-known multiplayer games, in order to attract as many viewers as possible in a short time, may bring the channel up fast. But I often observe that the quality of the audience, their interaction, and communication readiness in the chat, often leaves something to be desired in these channels. Just having a lot of spectators would not be enough for me. I would like to entertain and talk to the many different people out there, get to know them. Spectators in the three- or four-digit range look great but are not nearly as exciting. My advice therefore to all newbies: power what you really enjoy and do not look at the clicks. Even if the "success" takes longer. Also, do not make your success depends on being recognized every few feet on the street. Being good at what you do does not require worldwide prominence. I can now live stream, even though I can not call myself "known" for a long time.
  • Inspiration is a key thing in any venture, what inspires you with content creation?
    • My great community makes it possible for me to come up with new ideas again and again. If it were not so, I would have long since lost the fun of new ideas. Many of my viewers also contribute their own ideas, in which the channel grows. The inspiring part of my work is my community.
  • In today's competitive environment for content creators, switching to new games is needed to stay ahead of the curve, that means you often don't get to finish games, what was the last one you felt you'd completed?
    • I can not sign the sentence like that. Since I do not limit myself in my selection of games and not just follow the latest trends, there is hardly a game that will not be finished. That's the core of a gaming channel: traveling with the community through a new world of games and laughing together, crying or getting annoyed at a damned open end. It does not matter if it's a small indie title or a mammoth project like "Okami" or "Kingdom Hearts" recently. It does not end with projects that simply turn out to be "not-our-game", I remember "SOMA" for example.
  • During a Zombie apocalypse which other content creators would you want with you?
    • The streamer "TheRealKocher" would be there, at the moment, my streamer of choice. In every zombie apocalypse, you need someone to leave behind when the going gets tough. Since he can scream so wonderfully loud, he would attract all the zombies in the area so that I could escape in peace.
