Squad - Alpha 9.4 is out!

The Alpha version of the tactical shooter Squad is headed quickly toward version 10. Surprisingly, we are receiving a patch between that version and the most recent. Here, you can find out more about that update.

If you are part of the Squad community, surely you didn't miss what Offworld Industries has provided under the pressure of reaching version 10. To alleviate the waiting, here we have information on version 9.4.

Everyone is getting new toys in the form of mortars, mines, IEDs, and some vehicles. The gameplay has also received some changes. Vehicles come with a ticket reduction, recruits have access to entrenchments and medics can use frag grenades. The HATs (Heavy Anti Tank) has been slightly tweaked and the kit is a bit more limited.

The portable cover is now for the scout to improve the balance between the classes. The same treatment has been given to antitank mines, decoys, and IEDs. All of the new and old tools have been sorted into subcategories.

The vehicles have had their engine noise reduced a bit, and now you can keep an eye on the condition of the vehicle. In general, sounds have been reworked a bit.

In order to avoid unfair and unintended advantages, there is now a non-buildable zone in each base. Adjustments have been made to the map and the map grid to make it more dynamic and clear. A benchmark test is ran at the start of the game as well, to show you the proper settings for best performance.

A new game mode is also making its way into the game with this update: Invasion! You can let off quite a bit of steam with this mode, so go check it out! You can also count on many bug fixes and other small scale improvements for the game.
