A rush of content has been brought forth into your upcoming 7 Days to Die adventure with friends! From new art and props to 692 new shapes inside the Alpha 21 update. There are so many mighty changes, so we’ll focus on the most important overhauls to look out for in your 7 Days to Die server world!
Holding a heavy focus on improving the world around you, the 7 Days to Die update dev team has been hard at work designing and producing improved art for the world. This includes changes to existing environment objects and graphics you’d see while running away from a hoard of zombies. You can keep an eye out for the following props and graphical elements that have changed in the world on your server and, keep in mind, this is only a handful of the over 30+ improvements!:
Your adventures inside 7 Days to Die are about to get a whole lot more… random! Random world generation or RWG for 7DTD has seen a large improvement. From generation speed to POI placement, and new features aimed at enhancing a player’s experience and resolving bugs. Below, we’ll outline the most notable changes you can expect!:
In addition, a new chunk reset system has been implemented. A new advanced game option, enabling the chunk reset system will cause chunks to reset to their original states when they’re unvisited for a specified in-game duration. That said, if you have land claims, bedrolls, or other important player-owned objects such as backpacks in a region, you will never need to worry as those chunks will not reset. It is important to keep in mind that containers and workstations do not follow this rule and so, we recommend always placing these in a location with other player-owned objects to be safe.
One of the biggest parts of this new feature is that previously visited locations will now be able to respawn loot and restore destroyed structures while players are away. This in turn will reduce save game sizes and keep your 7 Days to Die server adventure running at its best!
When it came to figuring out the difficulty in the past 7 Days to Die updates, it wasn’t always easy knowing what you were going to be getting yourself into if you walked into a Burnt or Snowy area. Often, players would utilize console commands to help them with these difficulties. Now, you’ll know exactly what difficulties you’ll be facing with the new difficulty improvements in the 7 Days to Die update. Indicated by a set number of red and orange skulls that appear when entering a point of interest, you can read these to see what awaits your fate in each POI. Below, you’ll see some examples of biome difficulty represented by the number of skulls that appear:
It’s important to know that POIs between the different biomes can be drastically different. For example, a POI inside the Snow area will be more difficult compared to that same POI in a Forest area.
The starter quest for the 7 Days to Die update has brought with it a new step-by-step breakdown of the initial stages of the game. By providing user-friendly instructions, both new and seasoned players can quickly and effortlessly learn how to dive right back into 7 Days to Die!
If you prefer a challenge, there are even new quest types called Infestation Quests. Starting at Tier 2, these quests take a support point of interest and add +1 to its current Tier. Then, zombie counts are multiplied to create an even greater challenge. This means that Tier 5 locations can become Tier 6 through these quests. With that, you’ll need to play alongside all of your friends by your side to defeat this ultimate challenge on your 7 Days to Die server hosting!
Due to this, the perk system has also seen an overhaul to the following perks!
