    7 Days to Die Console Commands Guide

    7 Days To Die Admin Guide and Console Commands – Introduction

    In the zombie wasteland of 7 Days to Die, as you start your adventure you’ll face hoards of undead through vast fields, abandoned cities, and military camps in the quest for survival. During your danger-filled journey into the groaning zombie lands, you and your companions can use the benefit of 7 Days to Die console commands in an instant to buff your game and players to the next level to survive any threat that comes your way!
     
    Whether you’re looking to make your character more powerful, aiming to stop a rude player by banning them, or you want to relax in creative mode, the 7 Days to Die console commands you can use pack a punch to take your server beyond for all players! To access these amazing tools, follow us through the battle to fight back the undead as we show you all of the 7 Days to Die console commands and how you can use those on your 7 Days to Die game server!

    Getting Admin On A 7 Days To Die Server

    To first gain access to 7 Days to Die console commands on your server, you will need to add yourself and other trusted players as admins on the server to run console commands. These steps will show you how to accomplish that:

    1. Head towards your 7 Days to Die Nitrado Web Interface.
    2. On the left side of your control panel, press the “Config Files” option.

    3. In your server config files, use the dropdown next to “Load file” to select the “serveradmin.xml” file. This is the location where you will add server admins.

    4. In the serveradmin.xml file, scroll down to around line 42 until you see “adminTools”.

    5. To add an admin to this file, add an admin player line like this:

    This can also work without the name= line and just with the permission set, example: <user steamID=”STEAM64ID” userid=”DB57E1CB69D5AB6B6DEDB1F5471DE0AFAEEF6929″ permission_level=”0″ />

    For Consoles

    1. Xbox or PSN user IDs can be found in the log files. Example line in the log: 2025-07-30T18:02:05 1001.309 INF [EOS-ACS] FreeUser: EntityID=191, PltfmId=’XBL_DB57E1CB69D5AB6B6DEDB1F5471DE0AFAEEF6929′, CrossId=’EOS_000212972bf84c93aa4f6d68b5150975′, OwnerID='<unknown/none>’, PlayerName=’Nitrado1123′, ClientNumber=’1′

    3. Once you have the Xbox or PSN user ID, please use the following format and insert that in the file, check below.

      Example:
    4. After making adjustments, press the “Save changes” button at the bottom.
      Do not forget to activate console access in your game menu, this is only for consoles.
    5. To do that, head towards Options from the main menu – then click General.

    6. Scroll down and turn the “Open Console Button in Pause Menu” to ON

      Don’t forget to apply the changes.
    7. Now every time you pause in game the console access will pop at the top right, just click on “Open Console”

      You can now enter the commands there.

    This is everything you have to do to obtain admin in consoles and PC however if you want to give special permissions and levels to users check below.

    1. By giving the permission level of “0”, this provides that user with access to all admin commands. You can change this level for each user and the permission levels of certain commands below this admin section in the “permissions” section.

    2. After making adjustments, press the “Save changes” button at the bottom.
    3. Go back to your Web Interface and restart your server to ensure those players receive admin access and permissions on your 7D2D server, allowing them to use 7 Days to Die console commands!

    Finding Your Steamid64 For The Serveradmin.xml

    1. Find that player’s Steam username.
    2. Once you have their username, go on SteamID.io and search for that player’s Steam username:

    3. The SteamID64 of that player will now display! Click the icon to the right to copy that ID.

    How To Use 7 Days To Die Console Commands

    Once players have admin access to a 7 Days to Die server, they will be able to access all commands on a server. We’ll show you exactly how to use commands while in-game:

    1. Load the 7 Days to Die game and join your server.
    2. Once you’re on your server, press the “F1” key to open the game console.

    3. In the game console, you can now type a command and press “Enter” to send that command. In our example, we have used the “help” command.

    IMPORTANT COMMANDS DESCRIPTION
    help <command> Provides help regarding supported commands such as ban.
    sa or saveworld Manually forces the world to save.
    say <message> Sends a server message to all players currently connected.
    sv or switchview Changes the player between 1st person and 3rd person views.
    buff <buff name> Adds a specified buff to your user.
    buff player <name / entity id / steam id> <buff name> Applies a buff to the specific player in the command.
    debuff <buff name> Removes the specified buff from your user.
    debuffplayer <name / entity id / steam id> <buff name> Removes a buff from the specified player in the command.
    dm or debugmenu [on/off] Toggles debug mode, allowing for the use of god mode when pressing the “G” key. You can also access the debug menu with the “ESC” key.
    clear Clears all of the output text in the game console.
    cm or creativemenu Activates and deactivates the creative menu in-game.
    deathscreen <on/off> Determines if the blood-filled death screen should be displayed during gameplay.
    exhausted This makes your character exhausted.
    thirsty Instantly makes a player thirsty.
    starve Instantly makes a player hungry.
    givequest <quest> Gives yourself the specified quests.
    removequest Removes a specific quest from the 7DTD game.
    giveself <item name> [quality level] Drops an item at your feet with the set quality level up to 600 maximum.
    giveselfxp <amount> Adds a set amount of experience to your character.
    lights For all light-emitting objects, toggles to display an outline around them.
    version Provides the current version of the game and of loaded mods.
    traderarea Forces a player out of a trader area if they are within one, but they will be able to re-enter unless the trader is closed.
    shownexthordetime Displays the wandering horde time.
    stu or settempunit <c or f> Sets the specific temperature unit between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
    spawnairdrop Spawns in an airdrop to the game.
    se or spawnentity <playerid> <entityid> Spawns an entity by that player. Can also be done with F6, entity spawner mode, while in Debug mode.
    spawnscouts This command spawns one Screamer in the distance and it will go towards where the command was used by your player.
    spawnwh Spawns a wandering horde of zombies in the distance that will come near your location.
    spawnscreen Displays the spawn screen for your player.
    shutdown Shuts down the game session immediately.

    Player Management Commands

    PLAYER MANAGEMENT COMMANDS DESCRIPTION
    kick <name / entity id / steam id> [reason] Kicks the specified player from the game.
    kickall [reason] Kicks all players from the game/server.
    ban add <name / entity id / steam id> <duration> <minutes / hours / days / weeks / months / years> [reason] Adds a player to the ban list for a set duration. The reason is optional.
    ban remove <name / entity id / steam id> Removes a player from your ban list.
    ban list Displays a list of all banned players including their duration, ID, and reason for the ban.
    admin add <name / entity id / steam id> <permission level> This command is used to add players to the admin list with a specific permission level. You can use the player’s entityid, playername, or steam ID in this command. The permission level can range from 0(full permissions) to 1000(no permissions).
    admin remove <name / entity id / steam id> Removes the specified player from your admin list.
    whitelist add <name / entity id / steam id> Adds a player to the game whitelist.
    whitelist remove <name / entity id / steam id> Removes a player from the game whitelist.
    whitelist list Provides a list of all players currently whitelisted.

    Time, Weather, & Teleport Commands

    TIME, WEATHER, & TELEPORT COMMANDS DESCRIPTION
    gt or gettime Provides the current game day and time on the console.
    weather Controls the current weather conditions. Use /help weather to learn more.
    tp or teleport <E / W> [y] <N / S> Teleports a player in a specific location where E, W, N, and S are distance. Y is optional and if not used, you will always spawn on the ground.
    tele or teleportplayer <name / player id / steam id> <E / W> [y] <N / S> Teleports the specified player to a specific location where E, W, N, and S are distance and Y is optional.
    st or settime <day / night> Sets the time between day and night.
    st or settime <time / [day hour minute]> Allows for setting the time to a specific time or to a specific day, but can greatly run the risk of breaking everything timer related in the game save.

    Advanced Commands

    ADVANCED COMMANDS DESCRIPTION
    ai pathgrid Does not yet have a use.
    ai pathlines Previously the command ai path, does not yet have an application.
    aiddebug Enables and disables the AIDirectory debug output.
    cc or chunkcache Displays all loaded chunks in the cache.
    rcd or repairchunkdensity <x> <z> [fix] Checks, and when adding “fix”, repairs any mismatches within a chunk by checking the densities of blocks with the actual block type.
    sc or showchunkdata Displays the current chunk data of the chunk you’re in.
    cp add <command> <level> Sets a specified permission level to a 7DTD command.
    cp remove <command> Removes the command from the command permissions list.
    cp list Displays a list of all current command permissions.
    enablescope <on/off> Toggles the debug scope.
    sounddebug Enables and disables the SoundManager debug output.
    exportcurrentconfigs Exports all currently in use configs to your server/game folder /7DaystoDie/ Saves/ <worldname>/ <servergamename>/ Configs.
    exportitemicons Exports all item icons to the /7DaystoDie/ItemIcons folder.
    gg or getgamepref Prints all current game preferences to the console.
    ggs or getgamestat Displays all current game stats to the console.
    gfx af <0 or 1> Enables and disables the anisotropic filtering.
    gfx dti Sets the distant terrain instancing.
    gfx dtpix Sets the distant terrain pixel error.
    le or listents Displays a list of all entities currently in-game.
    llp or listlandclaim Provides a list of all active land claim blocks with the set player name, world ID, SteamID, current health state, and the location.
    lpi or listplayerids Displays a list of all players and their IDs.
    lp or listplayers Lists all players with IDs, positions, health, stats, IP address, etc.
    lt or listthreads Provides a list of all threads in the console.
    lgs or loggamestate <message> [true/false] Writes and provides information on the current state of the game including memory usage, threads, and more to your local files /7 Days to Die/ 7DaysToDie_Data/ output_log.txt.
    loglevel <loglevel name> <true/false> Only for telnet/web, selects the types of log messages shown on the connection. Log levels include INF, WRN, ERR, EXC, or ALL.
    mem Provides the current memory information and calls garbage collector.
    memcl Displays current memory information on client and calls garbage collector.
    pplist Lists persistent player data.
    water Controls the water settings of the game. Use /help water to learn more.
    showclouds Determines if clouds should show as one layer.
    updatelighton <name / player id / steam id> Updates the lighting of materials and of a player if specified.
    sg or setgamepref <preference name> <value> Sets a specific game preference. Game preferences can be viewed with the command /gg.
    sgs or setgamestat <stat name> <value> Sets a specific game stat. Game stats can be viewed with the command /ggs.
    spectrum <choice> Spawns a specific lightning spectrum between Biome, BloodMoon, Foggy, Rainy, Stormy, and Snowy.
    staticmap Changes the Navazgane map between static and dynamic.
    norms or shownormals Toggles the display of normal maps inside of gBuffer.
    spec or showspecular Sets the display of specular values in gBuffer.
    albedo or showalbedo Enables and disables the display of albedo in gBuffer.
    systeminfo Prints currently information regarding the system including CPU, operating system, and more.
