A Map Twice as Big as The Island!
The Center transports players to a massive and mysterious archipelago, with double the size of “The Island” map. Filled with fascinating biomes and unexplored dangers, perfect for you and your group to spend hours exploring and discovering the new environments. This DLC features a central island surrounded by vast oceans, icy lands, tropical jungles, and volcanic terrain. In addition to the new areas, you will find powerful bosses for which you will have to use your best combat strategies and resource management.
Striking New Areas to Explore
One of the most striking features of The Center is its geography, featuring an immense cave at the center of the island, creating a scenario reminiscent of Jules Verne’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth” hiding secrets and challenges for those brave enough to venture inside.
On the surface, there are several islands ready to be explored. You can find the volcanic island, where abundant minerals, alpha dinosaurs, and numerous dangers will test your skills in the northwest part of the map. In the center of the map, you will find the characteristic circular floating island that gives its name to the map. A little further east, spanning from the center of the map to the south, we find a set of jungle islands featuring large rocky structures, creating small cliffs and an intricate landscape. Heading south, there is a vast Redwood forest, where you can encounter a wide variety of creatures, including Megatheriums, Thylacoleos, Terror Birds, among others. Beneath the sea surrounding this group of islands, you’ll find two air bubbles to explore, along with large marine structures you can explore with your friends.
To the west and surrounding the central island, we will find the Icy lands. This dangerous land stands out for having 2 large mountains, one to the north and one to the south, presenting new challenges and areas to discover. Also you can find a little Pinguin lake in the center, just a little bit more west of the central Island. In this entire area you will not only have to worry about the terrible temperatures but also about the ferocious predators that will be lurking around every corner.
With all this space, resources and biomes, you will now be able to manage much larger bases and tribes. Accept the challenge of building in the icy land and face its freezing temperatures or risk building in the volcanic zone and defend your fortress from powerful creatures. Whatever place you choose to create your new home “The Center” has the resources and space necessary for you to do it in a big way. Maintain your creativity and that of your friends by designing huge structures that house and protect you from the risks that this map has to overcome.
Creatures
The dinosaurs you can find in the “The Center” DLC map match those found in The Island map with a few additions. As well, the quantity of creatures is higher, especially for Carbonemys, Cegatheriums, Tusoteuthis, Basilosaurus, among other species. We highly recommend using this map for taming marine creatures, as there are more and they are easier to obtain. Additionally, the introduction of a new dino, the Shastasaurus, was announced.
Shastasaurus
This marine behemoth emerged as the victor of the community vote, securing its place in the expansive realm of ARK. Its imposing size grants players the unique opportunity to construct small underwater outposts beneath its colossal frame. These subaquatic structures function as specialized mounts, akin to miniaturized underwater capsules, providing freedom of movement within.
Adjustments by developers ensure the integrity of these underwater bases, effectively preventing water ingress and facilitating serene underwater exploration. Despite its imposing stature, taming this creature proves relatively straightforward; the presence of already-tamed creatures nearby is sufficient to gradually coax it into docility. Furthermore, its arsenal includes versatile abilities such as placement, sonar pulse, and a formidable tail attack, enhancing its utility and effectiveness in various scenarios.
Pyromane
The Center DLC also introduces a new premium class of creatures which you can buy for your game. The Pyromane is the first of these “Fantastic Tames” which all have their own unique abilities to further enhance your gameplay. It can transform from a shoulder-mounted little kitten to a full-sized rideable lion! Explore The Center with your new little companion or traverse the landscape in its rideable form.
Bosses
The DLC includes two medium-easy difficulty bosses, as the surrounding area poses no significant challenge for the player, who will only need to focus on defeating the minions generated around the bosses.
