Satisfactory Update 8 Update Changes

Satisfactory Unreal Engine 5 Upgrade

The development team has gone all out with Satisfactory Update 8, upgrading the game engine to Unreal Engine 5. This rework introduces a lot of updates across various parts of the game including better world loading with a new world partitioning system, improved vehicle physics, anti-aliasing, and the introduction of Nanite and Lumen to greatly enhance performance. This not only greatly improves the game itself but also the experience of players joining and exploring the update on your server.

Satisfactory Update 8 Blueprint Adjustments

On top of the overhauls from UE5, blueprints have also gotten a major facelift in this update. These changes include blueprint dismantling with a simple “R”-toggle, allowing players to dismantle entire blueprints simultaneously and save time. In addition, building mode upgrades are here bringing a directional indicator and quick switching accessible by holding “E,” making constructing dream factories a breeze!

Quality of Life Improvements

To keep your adventure at its best, a host of new game options and quality-of-life improvements were also added in the Satisfactory Update 8. The setting changes consist of options to include flight mode, no build costs, changing the game phase, and managing respawn options. If new options to unlock further customization were not enough, the quality of life improvements are even better! 

A major new improvement in this update comes in the form of power grids, where you can set a Priority Power Switch and organize sections of your power grid with priorities. In addition, a new Power Tower allows you to connect power lines over longer distances. Plus, you can experience other adjusted features such as destructible gas pillars, much better jetpack fuels, and a greatly enhanced parachute that now makes it more viable during the early to mid-game stages.
