ARK: Survival Evolved Admin Log – How to Monitor Your Server

    ARK Admin Log – Introduction

In an ARK: Survival Evolved server, there are many ways to explore the world and uncover its secrets. As you travel through the world, you’ll encounter a variety of landscapes, from dense forests to high mountains and deep caves. The best way to explore the world is with your friends and other players, so you’ll be able to face the lurking dangers. To make your life in ARK a little easier, you can use admin commands but with these, it’s important to also know how to use the ARK admin log.

ARK’s admin commands are available to any player who knows the admin password and enters it into the game’s console. To keep track of what commands players end up using, the logs store every command run and who performed it. This is great in the event the wrong commands are used and you need to see who did it. In this article, we will show you how to use admin logs on your ARK server to keep an eye on all your fellow players!

Getting Started with ARK Admin Log

How to Enable the Admin Log on your Server

    1. First, log in to your Nitrado.net account and head to your web interface.
    2. Then, stop the server and navigate to the “General Settings” of your server.
    3. In your settings, find the “Enable Admin Log” option. Check the box for this option to enable it.

    5. After checking that box, press save changes. Then, start your server.
    6. The admin log will now be enabled and you can review the login using an RCON tool.

How to Activate Admin Logs with Expert Mode

In case you have activated expert mode for advanced editing of your ARK server settings, you will have to manually activate the Administration Logs.

    1. Head to your ARK web interface and stop the server.
    2. Next, go to “Expert Settings” on the left-hand side and select Game.ini in the dropdown menu.
    3. Inside that file, find the setting “AdminLogging=” and set that to “true”.
    4. Lastly, save changes and start your ARK server to enable admin logs.

You can now review your admin logs in an RCON tool such as ARKon. To learn more about this tool and how to use it, follow the steps outlined in this guide. Once you’re inside RCON, you can use the command “getgamelog” to enable the ARK log.

Accessing ARK Logs in Your Server Files

    1. To begin, on the left side of your server webinterface under “Tools”, click “File Browser”.
    2. Within your ARK server files, go to the location /arkse/ShooterGame/Saved/Logs/.
    3. You can now download and view the logs at this location. The logs stored at this location are updated every 5 minutes, including up-to-date information on player actions, server actions, and commands run.

Monitor Your ARK Server and Stay Protected

Are you ready to begin upping the protections on your server? ARK often presents you and your teammates with difficult challenges where it can be worthwhile to use an admin command or two. Sometimes commands can get out of hand causing destruction and it’s important to know who did it and how it happened. With the admin log, you will now be able to see exactly what happened, when it happened, and how it happened. With this insight, you’ll be protected so that you can focus on having a blast with friends on your ARK: Survival Evolved server!
