Installing ARKon to Your Computer

• Firstly, go on this Steam thread and download the ARKon tool. If you’re unable to use the download link, copy that link and paste it into a new tab on your browser.

• After using this link, the ARKon program will immediately download to your computer as a .zip file. For the next step, you will need a .zip program such as 7Zip.
• Next, place the ARKon.zip file in an empty folder on your computer, right-click that program, and press “Extract Here”. Extracting the .zip file will place the ARKon application and all of its files in the folder.

• ARKon will now install on your PC. You can click on the “ARKon.exe” application to start ARKon. To connect to your server using ARKon, continue to the next steps.

How to Use ARKon to Connect to Your ARK Server

• To begin, start the ARK game. This will allow you to connect with RCON.
• Next, open the ARKon program and access the “Settings” tab.
• Afterward, under “Server Settings” add your server information.

• Config name – Set this to a name similar to your server name.
• Server IP – Add your server’s IP without the port to this option.
• RCON Port – Input your server’s RCON port here. You can find your RCON port and RCON password on your ARK server panel.

• Password – Next, add your server’s RCON password.
• Chat name – Lastly, set your preferred chat name for that RCON connection instance. ARK players will see this if you use the RCON “Chat” feature.
• Once that information is added, press “Save” to add that server to ARKon.
• Lastly, at the bottom press the “Connect” bottom to connect to that server using ARKon.

• If the connection is successful, in the bottom left corner you will see “Connected”. You can now begin using ARKon to manage your ARK: SE server.

Managing Your ARK Players with RCON

As players connect to your ARK server, they will display in the ARKon tool in the “Players” tab. Upon selecting this tab, you can click on specific players and manage them from whitelisting to kicking, and even banning. If the players’ tab is not loading correctly, you can press the “Refresh” option to refresh the players’ list.

Additionally, in the “Console” tab you can also actively watch player connections and watch your server. The console section includes the ability to send commands, chat messages, broadcasts, and direct messages to your ARK players.

Common Issues with RCON for ARK – ARKon

Connection lost… reconnecting

When you’re connected to RCON using the ARKon tool, you may experience a connection loss error. The error message you’ll encounter is:
[14:27:40] The server has stopped responding to RCON requests, reconnecting.
This is a bug within ARK which will hopefully be fixed soon.

While this bug may cause minor disconnects with the ARKon program, you will still be able to use ARKon for RCON on your ARK server.

Unable to Connect to RCON for ARK Server

If you can’t connect to RCON using ARKon, there may be an issue with the information on your ARK server. Additionally, the ARK game will need to be started while connecting to RCON for your server.

We recommend double-checking that all information is correct such as the RCON port and password, that the IP address does not include the port, and that ARK is fully opened to the main menu. Once everything is correct and ARK is started, you’ll then be able to connect to RCON for your ARK: SE server!
