How to Ban / Kick Players on Rust Console Edition Servers

How to Ban / Kick Players on Rust Console Edition Servers

Protecting your Rust Console Edition server from rule breakers, cheaters, and other malicious players is a critical role in making your community safe. Alternatively, maybe you just want to ban that one friend who kept griefing your base. Regardless, knowing how to moderate players on your Xbox or PlayStation server is important. With this in mind, we’ll show you how to ban or kick players on your Rust Console server in this Nitrado guide 👍

Note: We strongly recommend using a computer for this process, especially for those hosting their server on the Nitrado App from the Microsoft Store. You will need to access the Web Interface to ban or kick players from your Rust Console Edition server. Alternatively, you can become an admin or owner to do that in-game via commands.

How to Kick Players in a Rust Console Server

    • Go to your Nitrado Web Interface, then click Tools > Live Server Console on the left.
      Rust Console Edition Server
    • Proceed to enter global.kick “PlayerID” in the console.
Rust Console Edition Server Kick Command
Replace PlayerID with an Xbox Gamertag or PlayStation Network ID.
    • If successful, that user will be instantly removed from the server – but can rejoin.

How to Ban Players in a Rust Console Server

    • Go to your Nitrado Web Interface, then click Tools > Live Server Console on the left.
      Rust Console Edition Server
    • Proceed to enter global.ban “PlayerID” “Reason” in the console.
Rust Console Edition Server Ban Command
Replace PlayerID with an Xbox Gamertag or PlayStation Network ID.
    • You can confirm this worked by using the global.banlist command.

In case you want to unban a player from your Rust Console Edition server, then use the global.unban “PlayerID” command. This will allow them to join back and resume playing as normal.

Rust Console Server – Player Management

Why is it important to moderate players in your Rust Console Edition server? Well – if you don’t want cheaters or rule breakers, then you have to kick or ban them! The same goes for that one friend who constantly trolls everyone. We won’t judge if you suddenly ban them 😂

For those making communities, understanding player management is essential. Whether you’re on Xbox or PlayStation, having a large group playing together can result in some breaking rules. That’s why it is important to ban or kick them from your Rust Console server. Do it from the Live Server Console or in-game as an admin or owner, whichever is more convenient.
