Using the Dark and Light Game Console

Before becoming an admin and using commands, it’s important to know how to open the console of Dark and Light. To do so, start your Dark and Light game and press the numpad “+”-key on your keyboard. Once that’s open, you’re ready to become an admin and use commands!

How to Become a Dark and Light Admin

To become an admin on your Dark and Light server, you need your server’s admin password. To find your server’s admin password:

1. Head to your Dark and Light server webinterface.
2. Next, under “Settings” click on “General”.
3. In your General settings, find the “Admin password”.


4. Copy this password and join your Dark and Light server.
5. Press the “+”-key to open console and type “enablecheats ADMINPW”.
6. Then, type “setcheatplayer true” to enable the admin overlay.
7. You’re now ready to start using Dark and Light admin commands on your server!

Creature and Item Spawn Commands

Used to summon the different creatures of Dark and Light, the “GMSummon” command works similarly to how it works in ARK. Using a creature’s blueprint path, you’ll then set where you’d like it to spawn and the level it should be set to. Below, we’ll include the command and an example of summoning a “Wraith” with this command:

• GMSummon (creature_classname) (level)
• Example: GMSummon “Blueprint’/Game/Mods/DarkAndLight/object/Monster/Ghost/Ghost_Character_BP.Ghost_Character_BP'” 120

In addition, you can also summon specific items using the “giveitemnum” command.

• Giveitemnum (item ID) (quantity) (rarity 1-9) (0/1 where 0 is for item and 1 is for blueprint)
• Example: giveitemnum 15 1 0 0 – Will give your character a stone pickaxe.
