ARK: Survival Evolved Genesis Guide – Begin Your Simulation
ARK GENESIS BREAKS REALITY
Hello adventurer! In the world of ARK, we’ve seen many distinct lands from maps at the brink of extinction, worlds of lush islands and mountains, and even ARKs on ships out in the middle of space! In ARK Genesis, a new journey begins bringing about glitches and mixing the lines between what is real and what is fake with new areas, a dangerous new tier of ARK bosses, and over 175 missions with unique names that you can complete for rewards.
Speaking of missions, our research team has a goal of uncovering the simulations of the Genesis map to learn about the exciting mysteries we’ve heard such as the special Master AI, a special in-game currency, and the secrets behind each of the simulations. Our team invites you to join this mission as we explore the world of ARK Extinction, learn about its creatures, and try to break out of the simulation together through an ARK: SE game server!
EXPLORING THE ARK GENESIS DLC MAP
OVERVIEW
To start our mission, we must learn about the ARK Genesis map and each region within it. Our research map displays six areas we can explore including a chilling arctic region, an active volcano, a deadly bog, ocean depths, the coldness of space, and the final area- System Root. Our research begins in the Arctic and from there, we will then teleport to the other sections of our map to learn more about the Genesis DLC!
ARCTIC
In the shivering Arctic region, traversing these lands proved to be difficult with mountains and forests covering the area with shrouds of snow and blizzards. We noticed many similarities to that of other games as we explored, including a close resemblance to Skyrim and the chilling blizzard region appearing close to the planet Hoth in Star Wars.
BOG
Shrouded in darkness and mist, our team found it particularly difficult to navigate around the Bog. Dangers appeared seemingly out of nowhere as we explored, with the worst being spider-like creatures that would grab us and pull us away from the group. Fighting our way through and completing the missions that awaited brought an exciting rush!
OCEAN
Absent of land throughout this simulation, the Ocean region ended up living up to its name. Full of water with endless fish and monsters about, we brought the best swimming gear possible to uncover the secrets in the deep. During our missions, we ran across the most treacherous water tornados that seemed to pull us in and trap us in a shocking display. Thankfully, we managed to escape with minimum damage to our team and gear.
VOLCANO
Erupting with danger the moment we had spawned into the Volcano area, we were instantly attacked by the X-Creatures that live here. Battling tooth and nail in what we considered to be one of the most dangerous regions in the Genesis simulations, every mission and fight we faced fueled our desire to complete them and get away from this magma-covered land.
LUNAR
When we came upon the Lunar region, we found this region to be one of the most fascinating! Deep in space surrounded by rocks and debris, we were weightless jumping between the rocks to find the mysteries hidden in this world that lacks gravity. Some members of our team even experienced a condition known as “space adaption syndrome”, creating strong disorientation and making it even more difficult to travel in this simulation.
SYSTEM ROOT
After completing the missions found in each part of ARK Genesis, our team felt we were ready to take on the final area and boss. Initiating the “Arrival Protocol” through our HLN-A, we unlocked the Gamma difficulty of the mission with a total of 58 completed missions. Upon entering, corruption and technology appeared with the dangerous corrupted Master Controller. We knew that our team was in for a fight, but we could not imagine the dangers that lay ahead.
MEET THE CREATURES OF GENESIS
In our exploration, each area brought different challenges and creatures that we met throughout from space whales, a giant turtle fit for a floating house, to an impossible corrupted foe. Below is the information we gathered during our encounters with each of these unique creatures and ARK dinosaurs.
HLN-A – NPC & GUIDE FOR SURVIVORS
When we first began our adventure, a helpful AI greeted us with the warmest of welcomes introducing our team to the simulations inside of Genesis. Often giving us useful information and data about each simulation and the mysterious “glitches” found in each area, the cheerful and optimistic HLN-A was a necessity for navigating the world of ARK Genesis with the ability to teleport between simulations and exchange mission rewards for items and engram points.
ASTROCETUS
Also known as the “space whale” of ARK, our research team came across one of these majestic creatures inside of the Lunar simulation. Gorgeous and glowing with bright colors, as we observed the Astrocetus it regularly shot beautiful cosmic energy from its blowhole, temporarily increasing its speed and the glowing brightness around its fins until it slowed back down. We plan to return later to tame one of these amazing creatures in the future to take advantage of its ability to hyperspace jump to bypass structures.
BLOODSTALKER
A creature that brought us true fear as we explored the Bog region, our team had been exploring when suddenly a member had been grabbed by a Bloodstalker. Through a vicious fight, we managed to break our friend free of its web attack. The creature, still quite angry, chased us with its six-deadly arms even skating across the water as it came towards us. After running at full speed for quite a distance, we managed to get away from this blood-sucking danger to a safe area where we could take a much-needed break.
MAGMASAUR
In the bubbling lava-filled regions of the Volcano, our team had been exploring when we came across a Magmasaur. Consuming fire as it came near, we learned that the Magmasaur had a special ability to act as a forge and smelter when it came near any materials such as stone, meats, and ambergris. Being quite a rocky monster, our team found that rocket launchers were an effective means of keeping our distance and fighting back against this danger.
MEGACHELON
Diving through the seas, we uncovered a giant turtle that offered many benefits to our research team to assist us in the Oceans. Docile unless attacked, the Megachelon was quite slow but dealt a considerable blow when it hit one of our team members nearly knocking them out. Through sheer persistence, and with the help of friendly Parakeet Fish, we were able to tame the creature utilizing its large shell as a mobile base for our research team!
PARAKEET FISH SCHOOL
Helpful creatures to our team, we came across Parakeet Fish in our efforts to tame a Megachelon. The Parakeet Fish would stay in swarms following us as long as we stayed near. Our team had to master swimming fast enough to outrun it while still maintaining a close enough distance for them to follow, and after much effort, we managed to accomplish that as we tamed a Megachelon using them.
TEK TRICERATOPS
Continuing our expedition across the simulation of Genesis, we found a Triceratops that looked quite a bit different from its normal variant. Covered in Tek, the appropriately named Tek Triceratops crossed our path showing off their bright Tek as they traveled across the simulation. Being quite friendly to our team, we left the Triceratops alone as we moved forward in our adventure.
MOEDER, MASTER OF THE OCEAN
Deep in the Oceans of ARK Genesis, our team learned of and ended up finding one of the deadly master AI in these simulations. Known as the Moeder, this creature appeared as a massive electric Eel with eel minions always by its side to assist it. Dealing massive bites towards our team as we attempted to fight against it, the Moeder would sometimes hide sending its minions to take us down. After some time of fighting between its minions and dealing damage, we were able to slay this deadly ocean foe.
FEROX
The sweet Ferox brought a fresh breath to our research team, or so we thought. At first, this gentle creature came upon us sniffing in search of elements. At the time, we had stored our elements back at base. While the first few Ferox we met simply ran away since we did not have elements, one of them did not run away. We had accidentally uncovered that the Ferox had another form that it can turn into when it does not get elements. That form, a much larger Ferox, became extremely aggressive attacking our team and all creatures in sight. With pure luck and speed, our research team managed to evade and escape this danger.
CORRUPTED MASTER CONTROLLER
An ultimate that required a lot of work before we could face it, we were not ready for the fight that awaited with the corrupted Master Controller. Featuring four phases that lasted fifteen minutes each, we often found ourselves overwhelmed by the many minions that spawned to help the corrupted Master Controller as we focused and fought to take it down. This boss even made the difficult ARK Extinction King Titan look easier to defeat. Our team even uncovered that in addition to the Gamma version we had faced, there were also additional Beta and Alpha versions requiring a majority of the missions to be complete before we could face them. After many tries, and through the use of powerful tames and weapons, our research team managed to best the Gamma version of this corrupted controller with almost no time left.
X-CREATURES
While battling many of the new creatures found in ARK Genesis, we often came across an entirely new variant of creature named “X-Creatures”. Truly terrifying beasts, X-Creatures appeared to have a large damage increase of up to 250% with a large damage resistance of 60% when they fought against our team and our tamed dinosaurs. Our team managed to find X-Creatures for nearly every existing creature throughout Genesis, even having a deadly run-in with an X-Creature known as the X-Rex where our team barely escaped with their lives.
GLITCHES IN ARK GENESIS
Through each distinct area we explored, beams of purple appeared. These wondrous beams felt like a mystery until we brought our helpful HLN-A AI closer. Upon evaluation, we learned that glitches were repairable and when fixed, would give us interesting details about the world of Genesis while teaching us about the events that lead to this simulation. This included the amazing rewards of hexagons, which we could use to gather resources and loot crates from the HLN-A menu to assist us in our journey!
ARK GENESIS MISSIONS
The missions faced were a new experience for our team as we entered the exciting Genesis lands. Each mission offered a unique and fun experience to the game, from collecting resources to battling dangerous foes, and even racing with dinosaurs to progress in the system. With the final areas requiring that we complete a certain number of missions, we worked hard and were rewarded generously with mission completions and hexagons that helped us to advance to the final boss!
