How to Become a Palworld Server Admin

Joining your own Palworld server as a regular player leaves you without any way to fix problems on the spot. Becoming an admin gives you in-game commands to manage the world directly, and the key to that access is the AdminPassword setting.

AdminPassword is not the same as the Server Password, which only gates who can connect to your world in the first place. AdminPassword is a second, separate password that unlocks administrative privileges once you’re already connected. In this Nitrado guide, we’ll show you how to set AdminPassword in the Nitrado Web Interface and use it to gain admin rights in-game.

Navigate to Settings and Config Files

You should stop the server before you edit the config file and restarting it once you’ve saved, so the new AdminPassword takes effect cleanly.

Palworld Settings menu with General, Configuration profiles, and Config Files buttons

Open your server’s Web Interface and select Settings from the menu. AdminPassword isn’t exposed as its own field on the General section, so click Config Files to reach it directly in the configuration file.

Open PalWorldSettings.ini in the Config Files Editor

Palworld Config Files editor showing PalWorldSettings.ini

The Config Files section opens with a file selector showing PalWorldSettings.ini already chosen by default, so there’s nothing to pick here for this task. The code editor below it displays the file’s contents directly, including a long OptionSettings line that holds every server setting as a comma-separated key-value pair, among them AdminPassword.

    Set the AdminPassword Value

Scroll along the OptionSettings line until you find AdminPassword= followed by its current value. Replace that value with the password you want to use for admin access, then click Save changes to write it to the file.

Use AdminPassword to Gain Admin Rights in Game

With AdminPassword set and saved, join the server as you normally would using the separate Server Password if one is set. Once you’re in, open the in-game chat console and type /AdminPassword followed by the password you just configured.

Entering that command correctly grants your character administrative privileges for the session, letting you run admin-only commands against the server.

    Take Command of Your Server

Setting AdminPassword in Config Files and entering it with the in-game /AdminPassword command is how you take on admin duties on your own Palworld server. Head to Settings > Config Files now, set your AdminPassword, and use it in-game the next time you need to step in and fix a problem on the spot. Share it only with players you trust, since anyone who knows it can reach those same admin commands.

Navigate to Settings and Config Files

Open PalWorldSettings.ini in the Config Files Editor
