How to Enable PVP On Your Hytale Server

Ready to test your mettle against friends in the world of Hytale? While exploring Orbis is an adventure in itself, sometimes you need to prove your combat skills directly against other players. By default, combat between players may be disabled to prevent accidental damage. In this Nitrado guide, we will show you how to enable PVP on your Hytale server so you can let the battles begin.

Enabling PVP

Turning the battlefield on requires a quick adjustment to your server’s configuration files. This ensures the game rules specifically allow players to damage one another.

⚠️ You can also use /world config pvp true with admin permissions to enable it.

1. Head to your Nitrado Web Interface and Stop your server.
2. On the left-hand side, navigate to Tools > File Browser.
   
3. Open the universe folder, then select worlds.
   
4. Open the folder matching your specific World Name.
5. Open the config.json file.
   
6. Find the setting labeled “IsPvpEnabled”: false.
7. Change this setting to “IsPvpEnabled”: true.
   
8. Click Save Changes at the top right, then Start your server.

Pro Tip: When editing JSON files, be careful not to delete any quotation marks or commas. A single missing character can prevent the server from reading your settings correctly.
