How to Import a Conan Exiles Save to Your Nitrado Server

How to Import a Conan Exiles Save to Your Nitrado Server

Spending weeks building the perfect fortress and capturing high-tier thralls takes serious dedication. Moving your Conan Exiles progress from a single-player world or a different server provider ensures you keep your custom buildings, thralls, and high-level characters intact when migrating to a Nitrado server. We will show you how to locate your existing world data and transfer it safely to your new server.

    Locating Your Existing Save Files

Finding your database depends entirely on which version of the game you play. Funcom split the client into two distinct branches, and they handle data differently. If you are migrating from a local single-player game, you must pull this file from your computer.

    Conan Exiles Enhanced (UE5)

The Enhanced edition runs on Unreal Engine 5. You will find the world data stored as a file named game_0.db on your local drive. Open your computer files and check Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved.

    1. Open your Steam library, right-click Conan Exiles Enhanced, and select Manage > Browse local files to access the main game directory.
    2. Open ConanSandbox > Saved to find your local database file.

    Conan Exiles Legacy (UE4)

The Legacy edition remains on Unreal Engine 4. Your progress in this older version is tied to a database file that changes depending on the map you play. The standard Exiled Lands map uses a file called game.db, while the Isle of Siptah expansion saves data inside DLC_Siptah.db. Look for your specific map’s file inside the exact same ConanSandbox\Saved directory.

    1. Open your Steam library, right-click Conan Exiles Legacy, and select Manage > Browse local files to access the main game directory.
    2. Open ConanSandbox > Saved to find your local database file.

    Switching from Another Server Provider

When moving from another server host, you must access their file system to extract the data.

    1. Open the file manager on your previous host’s dashboard or connect through an external FTP client.
    2. Navigate to the directory path ConanSandbox/Saved/.
    3. Download the game_0.db, game.db, or DLC_Siptah.db file directly to your desktop so it is ready for the move.

    Preparing Your Nitrado Server

Your new server needs a clean slate before it accepts an imported world. Game versions must align perfectly. Just like the game clients, Nitrado offers two distinct server versions for Conan Exiles: Legacy and Enhanced. An Enhanced server cannot read a Legacy database, and a Legacy server fails to load an Enhanced database.

If you have a Legacy save but plan to upgrade to the newer engine, you need to switch your server branch first. We cover that process in our guide on preparing your server for the UE5 update. Otherwise, ensure your active server version matches the file you just tracked down.

    1. The server needs to build its internal directories before it can accept a custom save file. Start your server once to generate the default folder structure.
    2. Afterwards, stop the server completely before making any file changes.

    Uploading Your World File

With the server offline and your file ready, you have two distinct ways to transfer the data over to your new host. The built-in File Browser handles smaller saves easily, while an external FTP client prevents browser timeouts for massive databases. Our Nitrado FTP guide explains both methods in detail.

Pro Tip: Keep an untouched copy of your original .db file safe on your desktop before deleting or overwriting any files on the new host.

    Using the File Browser

    1. Log into your server web interface and navigate to Tools > File Browser.
Import Conan Exiles Save - Open File Browser
    2. Find the correct destination for your database. Click through:
      • Conan Exiles Enhanced: conanenhanced/ConanSandbox/Saved
Import Conan Exiles Save - Conan Exiles Enhanced Location
      • Conan Exiles Legacy: conan/ConanSandbox/Saved
Import Conan Exiles Save - Conan Exiles Legacy Location
    3. Clear out the blank slate to make room for your progress. Delete the existing .db file generated by the server.
    4. Upload your personal .db save file into this folder by pressing on Upload File.

    Using FTP

    1. Locate your FTP login credentials on your server dashboard so you can authenticate the connection.

    2. Open your FTP client and enter the host address, port number, username, and password to connect.
    3. On the remote server side, click through the folders to reach:
      • Conan Exiles Enhanced: conanenhanced/ConanSandbox/Saved
      • Conan Exiles Legacy: conan/ConanSandbox/Saved
    4. Drag your local .db file from your desktop into the remote folder to initiate the transfer.
    5. Confirm that you want to overwrite any existing file with the same name.

    Conquer the Exiled Lands

The transfer is complete.Your world is now ready for a larger audience. Boot up your Nitrado server and invite your clan to admire that fortress you spent weeks building. The Exiled Lands wait for nobody. But now you hold the power to shape the wastes on your own terms.
