There are many different medical items and one of the most important of those items is the splint. The splint in DayZ is just like its real-life counterpart, able to protect a player’s leg from further damage until the broken limb is healed. HOW TO MAKE A SPLINT BASICS – DAYZ MEDICAL ITEM

CREATING A SPLINT IN DAYZ

Before you can make a splint in DayZ, you will need to gather a few items. You can use this list to find and gather the items needed to create a splint:

1. 1. (2) Short Sticks | These items can be obtained by cutting firewood or splitting long wooden sticks. Sticks can also be found by searching through fern patches located in forest regions.

1. 1. (4) Rags or (1) Bandage | Can be found throughout the DayZ map in most locations. Bandages can also be found inside First Aid pouches.

SPLINT – HOW TO CRAFT

While holding rags, go into your player inventory and drag the short sticks to the left next to “Combine” at the bottom of your DayZ game screen to make a splint in DayZ:

USING A SPLINT IN DAYZ

Once the splint has been crafted, the splint can either be stored in your medical supplies or used right away if you or one of your friends has a broken limb. To use a splint, do the following:

1. Head to your DayZ character inventory and move the splint to your “HANDS”.
2. While holding the splint, hold down the use button for 10 seconds:
   • PC keyboard – F key
   • Xbox controller – X button
   • Playstation controller – Square button
3. After those 10 seconds, the splint will visually appear on your character’s left leg. You’ll now be protected from running damage and becoming unconscious, and the broken limb will heal!

OTHER USEFUL DAYZ MEDICAL ITEMS

FIRST AID POUCH

The First Aid Pouch in DayZ is a lifesaver, literally! Found throughout the DayZ map similar to crates and ammo boxes, players can pick up and open a First Aid Pouch to gain various supplies including a bandage, Blood Test Kit, IV Start Kit, and a Blood Bag Kit.

ALCOHOLIC TINCTURE

When being wounded in DayZ, players can develop infections from those wounds. To help mend these infections and other potential viruses, Alcoholic Tincture can be used. This item is most commonly found near medical facilities.

BANDAGES

After a wound has been cleaned with Alcoholic Tincture, the next step is to get that wound covered up. Players using bandages will not only cover up any wounds incurred stopping all blood loss but will also ensure the wounds heal.

SALINE BAG

Traveling through an apocalyptic world players are bound to receive damage which results in blood loss. While blood loss can spell death in DayZ, the Saline Bag is a very important medical item to help with this. When using a Saline Bag, no matter that player’s blood type, the bag will boost their blood regeneration by 5x the normal rate while also providing the player with a hydration boost.

PLAY DAYZ TOGETHER AND STAY ALIVE

Many different dangers fill DayZ as you explore and at a moment’s notice, you or one of your players can get injured. When that happens, healing right away with medical supplies will help to keep everyone alive on your server.
