How to Move a Palworld Co-op World to a Dedicated Server

When self-hosting your own Palworld co-op save, you might have decided to switch to a dedicated server. This allows you to run it 24/7 without any interruption, but you would need to migrate your co-op save files. The process to do that is straightforward and only takes a few minutes. With this in mind, we’ve created this Nitrado guide to show you how to move your co-op save to a dedicated server 👏

How to Find Your Co-op Saves

⚠️ Click here if you only want to migrate your local save files instead.

1. Open Steam, search for Palworld Dedicated Server.
2. Right-click it, then select Manage > Browse Local Files.
   
3. Navigate to Pal\Saved\SaveGames\0 in the directory.
   
4. Keep this open for later use.

Uploading Your Co-op Save

1. Head towards your Nitrado Web Interface and stop the server.
2. Access the server files via an FTP program like FileZilla or Cyberduck.
   
3. Navigate to the palworld/Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0 directory.
4. Upload your entire co-op save folder here. Wait for all files to be transferred.
   
5. Navigate to Tools > File Browser in your Web Interface.
   
6. Go to the palworld/Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer directory.
7. Locate and open the GameUserSetting.ini file editor.
8. Change the DedicatedServerName= option to the save name you uploaded.
   
   E.g. DedicatedServerName=EFC861A04CA791D3EB701CBD4EA1463E
9. Save these changes, then start up your Palworld server & join.

Server Loads a Fresh World

If the server boots up and it’s a brand new save file (no structures, new characters), then the server configuration file cannot find or read your uploaded save folder. Here’s the fix:

• Stop the server and open the GameUserSettings.ini file.
• Verify that DedicatedServerName= matches your save folder’s name exactly.
• Ensure the save folder was uploaded directly into the 0 directory.
