Owning your own server is a remarkable feeling. You can explore the worlds of various games like Minecraft, ARK: SE, Valheim, and dozens more with friends and other players. As you play and run larger servers and more servers in general, this can become costly, however, there is a way to make money while running your server. This can be done through an addon called Tebex.
Tebex is a service that helps you monetize your server with a webstore. This store can then offer sales of digital game goods such as in-game items, ranks, and much more. With these incentives, you can really draw players in for excitement and fun all while they support your server. In this guide, you will learn how to integrate Tebex on your Minecraft server to begin earning while playing!
Important note; Tebex is only available in some Minecraft versions.
There are many benefits to using Tebex on your server, with making money being the main one. Other kinds include having a dedicated website and area for your players to use, along with other features to help connect your community together. Our automated system only supports Tebex for Minecraft but may become available on other games in the future.
Once you’ve connected this software to the server, you can begin creating your webstore and packages to sell. Keep in mind that you’re also given the ability to make many pages, add sidebars, integrate a Discord server, and add other features to the website. If you have a custom domain, then you can implement that too so everything is personalized for your community. This also makes your Minecraft server more professional, as you can have in-game information, tutorials, or anything else on the website. In other words, Tebex offers you a chance to monetize and enhance your community with almost endless possibilities.
Before you can use Tebex on your Minecraft server, you need to perform a few simple steps. Of course, you need a Nitrado account and your own Minecraft server. If you don’t have an account, you can create one for free here on the homepage and then rent a server. Then you need to register with Tebex to be able to create and sell a webstore and packages. Once you have a Tebex account, you can take care of the integration on your server through our web interface. The next sections will guide you through the process.
There is a lot to do in your Tebex webstore. You can create new pages for community policies, create custom sidebars for server targets, and create items that you can then sell. All of these features can be found on your Tebex Dashboard, which admittedly can be confusing at first. To make your life easier, we’ve written several guides to help you get up and running with Tebex right away.
Before you dive headfirst into creating packages that you can sell in your webstore, you should familiarize yourself with the basics. This includes creating and customizing items and writing a suitable description for the item. You can also specify how often the item can be bought and which category it belongs to. This will make it easier for your players to find what they are looking for. The following table and the next sections will guide you through this process.
Setting / Option | Description |
Name | The name of the package, which is displayed in the game and in the webstore. |
Description | An overview of what the player gets when he buys the package. |
Price | This is the price the player has to pay for the package. |
Recurring Payment | Specifies how the player pays, i.e. whether it is a one-time payment or a subscription model. |
Global Limit | Specifies how often the package can be purchased from the web store or server. |
User Limit | Determines how often a player can buy this package from the webshop or on the server. |
Required Packages | Shows whether another package must be purchased beforehand or is required. |
Visibility | Specifies when the package is published or deleted and who can see it. |
Variables | Create and select a variable for external benefits, such as a specific role on a Discord server. |
Upselling | Can be used to sell additional items or packages to the player. |
Note: Click on Variables or Examples to get further information.
If you are thinking of creating new pages for your players to visit, stay tuned. Here you will get the opportunity to set game rules, promote your Discord servers and much more. Don’t forget that Tebex doesn’t only give you opportunities to sell stuff, but it’s also there for you to create a whole homepage for your community. Therefore, we recommend that you create a few pages to give your store a personal touch.
In the Pages section, you can also customize the Homepage of your webstore. You can do this by pressing Edit at the top. This will open an editor. When you are done, press Update. Check your changes again afterward. Remember that it may take a few minutes for the changes to become visible.
Another way to display content on your website are sidebars. These are very visible in your webstore and are therefore a good place to display various packages, links, or Discord servers. Here’s how to create your own sidebar:
Apart from the features already mentioned, Tebex offers many more that you can test. These include website themes, Discord integration, offers, or even banning a buyer. These features are relatively easy to use and can be accessed from the dashboard. If you click on “Discord”, for example, you can integrate the Tebex bot on your server. This can then, if you have set it up that way, assign roles to your players on the Discord server. Some features may need some preparation. We encourage you to contact Tebex support if you have any questions.
Once you have sold some of your items, you can withdraw the money from Tebex and transfer it to your bank account or PayPal account. This is important because you want to make money with Tebex after all. Fortunately, this process is relatively simple and the following steps will show you how.
If you don’t find the MONETIZATION button in your web interface, it’s important to keep in mind it’ll only appear on Minecraft in some versions. Check if Tebex is compatible with your server or game, then create a webshop as described above in this article. Afterward,
If you have created packages and they do not work, you should start by checking the variables. The {username} variable is there to determine the name of the player. You can find these variables in the appropriate list while creating or editing a package. Especially if you also use mods on your server, it is important to make sure that there are no misspellings in the variables. Also, be sure to check that you have set the visibility of your items correctly and that the package is properly connected to your server.
If you have made your first sales and want to debit the money now, it may take a few days. It depends on whether the payments are already booked or not. It can take 3-30 days for the money to arrive in your account. Therefore, you should not worry immediately. Of course, to be on the safe side, you should check if everything is correct with your withdrawal method, such as your bank details or your Paypal account. If you have any problems, you should contact Tebex support.
You’ll now know how to integrate and use Tebex on your Minecraft server, whether you’re starting a new server or setting up a store for your existing server. From there, you can begin selling exciting items and packages to your player base, ensuring you can better fund your server and improvements to it. We’re excited to see what you can do with Tebex and wish you the best of luck!
