Thankfully, there is a way to still advance and that’s through the use of Project Zomboid admin commands.
     
    Project Zomboid commands allow you to manage players, spawn items, get XP, and control the game. Using these commands, you can ensure a great experience for everyone playing on your server. In this guide, we’ll show you how to enable and use Project Zomboid admin commands on your Project Zomboid game server to create the best multiplayer experience!

    How to Get Admin on a Project Zomboid Server

    When it comes to using Project Zomboid admin commands, you’ll need to acquire admin access first. To do this, you can follow our guide to making yourself a Project Zomboid admin on your server. Afterward, you’ll be ready to start using commands to manage your server!

    Using Commands on Your Server

    1. To begin, start Project Zomboid and join your server. If you haven’t already, follow the steps above to gain admin privileges on the server.
    2. Once in-game, press the “T”-key to open the multiplayer chat.

    • Toggle god mode for only themselves
    • Toggle invisible for only themselves
    • See players connected with /players
    • Teleport to another player
    • See server options via commands
    • Open locked doors
    • Go inside any safehouses
    • Can’t be kicked for lag
    • Can always join the server, even if full
    • Can talk while being invisible
    • Can’t be hit by other players
    • Log in/out while remaining invisible/invincible
    • See player stats when clicking on a player

    GM or Game Master

    • Everything Observer can access including:
    • Toggle god mode for other players
    • Toggle invisible for other server players
    • Enable and disable no clip
    • Teleport players to another player
    • Use /alarm, /gunshot, /thunder, and /chopper
    • Start and stop rainy weather
    • Spawn items and XP

    Overseer

    • Everything a Game Master can do including:
    • Summon zombie hordes
    • Kick players from the server
    • Display server messages
    • See connection information for a player
    • Disconnect a player with a specific connection number with /disconnect
    • Modify player stats in the player stats UI
    • Mute players from using chat

    Moderator

    • Everything an Overseer can access including:
    • Banning and unbanning of server players
    • Edit the server whitelist at any time
    • Change player’s roles/access levels below “Admin” role
    • Setup custom safehouses on the server

    Admin

    • Everything a Moderator can do including:
    • Saving and quitting the world
    • Change player’s roles/access levels including “Admin” role
    • Adjust and reload Project Zomboid server options

    Command Description
    /additem <player> <item> <amount> Gives an item to the specified player.
    /addvehicle <vehicle> [player|coordinates] Spawns in a vehicle to your server.
    /addxp <player> <perk>=<level> Increases a player’s experience in a particular perk on the server.
    /createhorde <amount> <player> Summons a zombie heard near the specified player.
    /godmode [player] Enables/disables god mode for yourself or another player.
    /nopclip [player] Enables/disables noclip for yourself or another player.
    /startrain & /stoprain Starts and stops rain in the world.
    /teleport <player1> <player2> Teleports one player to another player.
    /teleportto <x,y,z> Teleports you to the specified coordinates.

    Player Management Commands

    Command Description
    /setaccesslevel <player> <role> Sets a player to a specific server role.
    /addalltowhitelist Adds all currently joined users to the whitelist.
    /adduser <player> <password> Add a new player to your Project Zomboid server whitelist.
    /addusertowhitelist <player> Used to add an existing player to your whitelist.
    /removeuserfromwhitelist <player> Removes a player from your server whitelist.
    /voiceban <player> Bans a player from being able to use voice in-game.
    /banid <steamID64> Bans a user from your server using their Steam64ID.
    /banuser <player|IP> [-ip] [-r <reason>] Bans a user from your server using their player or IP address. You can include a reason.
    /unbanid <steamID64> Unbans a player from your server using their Steam64ID.
    /unbanuser <player> Unbans a player from your server using their username.
    /changepwd <oldpwd> <newpwd> Change your account’s password.
    /grandadmin <player> Grants an account admin privileges.
    /removeadmin <player> Removes admin from an account.
    /kickuser <player> [-r <reason>] Kicks a user with a reason if specified.
    players List all currently joined server players.

    Server Editing Commands

    Command Description
    changeoption <option> <value> Changes the specified server option to the value you set.
    showoptions Displays all server options that you can edit with the above command.
    reloadlua <filename> Reloads the specified lua script.
    save Saves your current Project Zomboid world.
    servermsg <message> Broadcasts a message to all players on the server.
    sendpulse Sends server performance information to the player running the Project Zomboid admin commands.

    Additional Commands

    Command Description
    alarm Sounds a building’s alarm if one is at the player’s position.
    chopper <username> Summons a helicopter event near the player.
    gunshot Makes a gunshot sound near the player.
    releasesafehouse Releases a safe house that you own.
    replay <player><-record|-player|-stop> <filename> Record a player or replay a replay to a specific player on your server.
    help List all commands on your server.
    quit Save and shut down the Project Zomboid server.
