How to Setup World Size on Rust Console Servers

How to Setup World Size on Rust Console Servers

For those looking to customize their Rust Console Edition server, changing the world size is one of the main settings to edit. A smaller map is perfect for quick combat situations and fast raids, while a larger world is better suited for exploration or building wild bases. It all boils down to what type of server you want. Whether you’re on Xbox or PlayStation, you have the ability to control many features for your multiplayer experience. With this in mind, we’ll show you how to easily change your world size on a Rust Console server 🌎

Note: We strongly recommend using a computer for this process, especially for those hosting their server on the Nitrado App from the Microsoft Store. You will need to access the Web Interface to successfully change your Rust Console Edition server’s world size.

Changing World Size on Rust Console

    1. Head towards your Nitrado Web Interface, then click Settings & General on the left.
    2. Nitrado Rust Console Edition Web Interface - General Settings
    3. Navigate to the Map section, locate the World Size field, then enter your desired size for the world.
    4. Nitrado Rust Console Edition - World Size Option
    5. After you’re finished, click Save Changes at the bottom and Restart to apply changes.

Ensure that the world size value isn’t too large, as this can pose problems for your server.

    World Size Calculator

Choosing the right world size can shape how your server feels, so we’ll help you decide. Review the table to see common map sizes and their uses in Rust. Whether you want intense combat or easy building, you can find the perfect starting point below.

    World Size Description Recommended For
3,000 Small map, faster PvP, less travel time. 1-25 players, PvP servers, quick wipe cycles.
3,500 Balanced size, good resource spread. 25-50 players, mixed PvP and PvE servers.
4,000 Large map, more space, longer travel. 50+ players, exploration and building focus servers.
4,500+ Extra large map, maximum exploration, distant monuments. Large communities, long-term PvE servers.

Rust Console – World Size Guide

Customizing your Rust Console Edition server can involve editing many settings, with the world size being a popular one. Depending on the type of map you want, this can be small or massive in size. Want more PvP? Choose a smaller world, otherwise make it larger for a more building / exploration experience.
