During your Viking adventures in the world of Valheim that is shrouded in mystery, you’ll explore and uncover secrets, gather, craft, build, and ultimately survive. When taking on this challenge, there are advantages you can take by using Valheim console commands to assist you and your friends in taking on the threats that await you to make for a better journey!
Valheim console commands can be used in only a moment on your Valheim game server and offer a variety of options including flying, broadcasting messages, managing your server players, and so much more. Raise your sword and join us as we show you how to use Valheim console commands and the many Valheim console commands that you can use on your own dedicated Valheim server!
Available when you are an Admin on a Valheim game server, these commands allow you to easily manage the players across your server.

Ban [name/ip/userID] | Permanently bans that user from your server. |
Unban [name/ip/userID] | Unbans that specified player on the server. |
Kick [name/ip/userID] | Kicks that player out of your server. |
Banned | Displays a list of all banned players on your server |
Save | Forces the server game to save progress in that moment. |
These Valheim console commands are available to all players on your Valheim server and offer options to hide the map, ping the server to check the connection, use emotes, and more!

Help [page] | Used to see the available commands on the server. |
S [message] | Shouts a message in chat. |
Say [message] | Says a message in chat. |
W [player] [message] | Whispers a message directly to a player. |
Ping | Pings the server connection. |
Nomap | Hides the map while you play. On servers, hides the map for all players. |
Noportals | Toggles the key for no portals on the server. |
Fov [number] | Changes the FOV view of your player in game. Default is 120. |
Info | Displays current system information on the server. |
Resetspawn | Resets the spawn location. |
Respawn | Kills and respawns the player that runs this command. |
Tutorialreset | Resets all viewed tutorial messages. |
Tutorialtoggle | Sets whether tutorials should appear or not. |
Optterrain | Converts old terrain (before Update 0.150.3) in the nearby area to the new terrain system. |
Bind [keycode] [command] | Binds a custom command to a Unity keycode. |
Unbind [keycode] | Clears all custom command binds for a specific Unity keycode. |
Printbinds | Displays all current custom command binds. |
Printseeds | Prints seeds and positions of nearby dungeons in-game. |
Resetbinds | Removes all custom command binds. |
Global key commands are commands that affect the entire server and occur during specific events and spawns. We will show you the different commands and keys you can use!

Listkeys | Displays all currently set global keys. |
Setkey [name] | Adds a specific key to the server. |
Resetkeys | Removes all set keys that were added. |
Removekey [name] | Removes a specific key from the server. |
Cheat commands are commands that will only work on a single-player server and before you can use them, you must use the command “devcommands” in-game to allow for cheats.

Fly | Toggles fly mode on the server / same as it is in debug mode. |
Freefly | Toggles usage of the free camera. |
Gc | Shows garbage collection information on the game. |
Ghost | Enables and disables ghost mode. While in ghost mode, enemies will ignore you. |
God | Toggles god mode for your player. |
Heal | Fully heals your player. |
Addstatus [name] | Adds the specified status effect to your player. |
Hair [hair#] | Permanently changes the hair of your character. Using only “hair” will remove your hair. |
Beard [beard#] | Permanently changes the beard of your character. Using only “beard” will remove your beard. |
Model [0-1] | Switches your character between being masculine and feminine. |
ClearStatus | Removes any status effect set to your player. |
Dpsdebug | Toggles the dps debug print. |
Env [env] | Sets the debug environment between any of the following: Clear, Twilight_Clear, Misty, Darklands_dark, Heath clear, DeepForest Mist, GDKing, Rain, LightRain, ThunderStorm, Eikthyr, GoblinKing, nofogts, SwampRain, Bonemass, Snow, Twilight_Snow, Twilight_SnowStorm, SnowStorm, Moder, Ashrain, Crypt, SunkenCrypt. |
Event [name] | Starts that specific named event. |
Ffsmooth 1 | Adds smooth movements to the free camera. Using “ffsmooth 0” resets this to normal. |
Forcedelete [radius=0] | Will remove objects in the radius set. The following objects will not be able to be removed: Players, tombstones, Valkyrie, Points of Interest, Dungeons, Vegvisirs, and Boss stones at the beginning of temples. |
Killall | Kills all nearby enemies and creatures, including tamed creatures on the map. |
Nocost | Toggles no cost mode for your game. |
Players [number] | Increases the difficulty of the game. Enter 0 to reset the difficulty to normal. |
Puke | Resets the fullness and hunger of a player back to default health and stamina. |
Raiseskill [skill] [amount] | Raises or lowers the specified skill for that player. |
Resetskill [skill] | Sets that specified skill back to 0 for that player. |
Randomevent | Begins a random event in your game. |
Removedrops | Removes all item drops in your game. |
Wind [angle] [intensity] | Increases and creases the direction and intensity of wind. |
Resetwind | Resets the wind angle and intensity in-game. |
Save | Forces the game to save at that moment. |
Setpower [name] | Adds the specified Forsaken power to your player and resets the cooldown. |
Stopevent | Stops any ongoing events in-game. |
Test oldcomfort | Reverts the game to an old non-optimized comfort calculation. |

Exploremap | Unveils the entire map. |
Resetmap | Hides the entire map. |
Find [text] [pingmax] | Locates and pings the specified objects on the map. Set pingmax to 1 for a ping and higher to place a pin on the map at that location. |
Genloc | Restributes all unplaced locations on the map. |
Goto [x] [y] [z] | Teleport your player to the specified coordinates. y is optional. |
Location [name] | Spawns in a location instance but permanently disables saving. |
Pos | Displays your player coordinates in the game. |
Printlocations | Displays a list of loaded locations, their distances, and offsets to players. |

Spawn [entity] [amount] [level] | Spawns in a specific item or creature with the given amount and level specified. |
Itemset [name] [keep] | Spawns in a premade item set for your player. Use the “keep” tag in the command to keep the items, otherwise, they will drop on the ground. |

Spawn [entity] [amount] [level]] | Spawns in a specific item or creature with the given amount and level specified. |
Tame | Tames all nearby creatures in your game. |
Removebirds | Clears all active birds off of your game. |
Removefish | Clears all active fish off of our game. |
Printcreatures | Displays a list of counts and levels of active creatures in the game. |
TIME COMMANDS | INFORMATION |
---|---|
Time | Displays the current time and if sleeping is possible. |
Timescale [target = 1] [fadetime = 0] | Sets the speed of the game by up to 3x speed. Fadetime sets the duration of this speed. Setting the target to 0 will pause time. |
Skiptime [seconds = 300] | Time will skip ahead changing the day and time. Skipping time can cause various issues with the game including spawn zones no longer spawning in enemies, animals and plants no longer growing, and fermenters, smelters, and kilns will stop working until the time is back to normal. |
Sleep | Skips your game forward by one day. |
Tod [0-1] | Sets the time of day, where 0 and 1 are both midnight, 0.5 is noon, and -1 will set the time back to normal. |
Debug mode, also known as creative mode, can be used to toggle fly and build without resources or a workbench. To begin using debug mode, type the command “debugmode” into the command console. You can type the command again to exit debug mode.
