ARK: Survival of the Fittest is a spin-off game to the popular ARK: Survival Evolved, bringing you and your friends into harsh fights with as many as 72 fellow survivors going against each other in a clash to be the sole player remaining as you face a constantly changing environment, deadly creatures, and custom events comparable to those in the Hunger Games franchise. While development ended several years ago on ARK: SoTF, the game is still playable at this time! GETTING STARTED ON ARK: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST SERVERS

When playing ARK: Survival of the Fittest, you will need the requirements of an active ARK Survival of the Fittest game server that you and your friends can play with and you will also need to ensure the ARK: Survival of the Fittest game is installed on your computer.

If you own ARK: Survival Evolved on Steam, ARK: Survival of the Fittest will automatically be available and can be installed from your Steam game library. Once you have ARK: Survival of the Fittest installed, you can follow the steps below to host your own server, find your server IP, and join the dedicated ARK: Survival of the Fittest server.

HOW TO HOST AN ARK: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST SERVER

1. Start by going on the Nitrado website and accessing the ARK SoTF server order page.
2. On the ARK SotF order page, review and press “Pick Offer” on the best plan for you.

   

3. After selecting the plan, pick the best location for your server and then press “Next” to proceed to the payment area.
   • If you are not signed in or do not yet have an account, you will be asked to “Register now for free” to create your own account.
4. After that, pick your preferred payment method for the server and then click “Charge account” to continue with that server payment.
   

5. Input your payment information (all information is safe and secure) and then click “Continue” to complete the payment.
6. Directly after, you will now be able to access your server from that account you created and you will also receive an email with your server information and instructions.

JOINING YOUR ARK: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST SERVER

1. To find your ARK: Survival of the Fittest server, you will need to set a custom name for your game server.
   1. Go on your ARK SotF server panel and stop the server fully.
   2. On the left side of the control panel, under “SETTINGS” select “Expert Settings”.
      

   3. In the expert settings, locate the “SessionName” and change this option to a unique name.
      

   4. After making any changes, click the save option at the bottom to save those adjustments.
2. With a unique server name set, start the ARK: Survival of the Fittest game on Steam.
3. At the main menu for ARK SotF, press the “PLAY UNOFFICIAL” option.
4. Use the “Server Name Filter” at the top to search for the unique name, then select the server and press the “Join” option to begin connecting.
   

5. You will now connect to the ARK Survival of the Fittest server and after enough players have joined, the game will begin!
   • If the ARK SotF server you’re joining contains mods, the game will automatically download those mods as you join.
