What is Core Keeper? Core Keeper is a game by developer Pugstorm, where players find themselves trapped underground. Brand New Core Keeper Paws & Claws Update – Companions and Animals
Sweet, adorable, and with different color variations, animal companions have arrived to Core Keeper. These cute animals come in 5 different varieties, alongside 3 different cattle being added too. Below, we’ll explain how to find them and what these animals look like!
Where to find Core Keeper Companions
Pet eggs are the new item needed to get your own Core Keeper companion. Found in various locations on the Core Keeper map, when placed in an incubator, the egg will hatch into an animal that can be equipped to assist you in battle through a dedicated pet inventory slot. Now that you know where to find Core Keeper animals and how to tame them, we’ll cover each individual animal you can discover! 🥚
Subterrier – A “good dog” & pal
Every game to ever feature animals definitely needs a “good dog” and Core Keeper does not disappoint with the introduction of Subterrier.
A canine companion with powerful jaws, Subterrier will follow you into battle and defend you until the end. Featuring the chance to stun your enemies to allow you to deal damage, they’re an explorer’s best friend!
Embertail – Fiery Cat
A fluffy and cuddly toe-beaned creature, the Embertail is the cat-like addition to the Core Keeper animals line-up.
As fierce in battle as it is at ripping up your beloved furniture, this creature can really turn up the heat with its dangerously fiery ranged attacks. Not to mention, the bright eyes of an Embertail provide +2 glow to avoid being snuck up on by wicked Cavelings in deeper, darker parts of the underground!
Fanhare – Feather-eared Bunny
Dangerous as is fluffy, the Fanhare is a bunny-like creature that has hopped into the game through the latest Core Keeper update.
While it’s tiny in size, this fluffball makes up for it with its dangerous swinging it’s poisonous hair at enemies. Sadly, this means you can’t quite snuggle up to a Fanhare without getting a bit poisoned in the process. Thankfully though, that makes it a stellar companion with its chance to apply poinson damage while being able to hit multiple enemies at the same time!
Owlux – Swift-beaked Bird
This one is a hoot, or a chirp, depending on the bird. Swift and ready with its sharp peak, the Owlux swoops into Core Keeper with Paws & Claws.
While it’s shy, a tamed Owlux will have your back against any enemy, ready to fight with beak and claws. With its bird-like nature, the Owlux will often fly overhead keeping an eye out for dangers. Lacking offensive powers, the Owlux offers a movement speed and damage buff to help aid you in battle!
Jr Slimes – Adorable baby Slime
One of the most adorable creatures to ever roll into a game, Jr Slimes have joined the animals you can tame on your Core Keeper server.
Starring with the cutest blue eyes and a variety of colors to boot, Jr Slimes are effective at dealing damage similar to their full-grown counterparts. From the oozy Jr Orange Slime to the poisonous Jr Purple Slime, the slippery Jr Blue Slime, and even the scorching Jr Lava Slime. With such variety, which Jr Slime will you go for first on your adventure?
Core Keeper Paws & Claws – Creative Mode with Unlocked Building & Crafting
Do you enjoy building inside Core Keeper? If so, then you’ll enjoy the newest addition of creative mode to the game, unlocking the limits of building. Rather than searching for materials and upgrading your equipment, you can simply try creative mode. With the creative mode UI, you’ll be able to choose from building materials, creatures, consumables, environmental objects, equipment, valuables, seasonal items, and more.
In addition, with creative mode active, players will be invincible, objects will not drop items, and objects are not consumed when used. To ensure the ultimate building experience, you can also try the “Play world” button while in creative mode. The play world option will stop all enemy AI and anything else from getting in the way of your building desires!
