Caves and Cliffs Update – Part 1

The first part of the Caves and Cliffs update will have the main focus on blocks and Mobs. Releasing a majority of the features expected to be seen with the Caves and Cliffs update. The summer update, Update 1.17, adds geodes, copper, along with new blocks and mobs. Below is a list of the main features that come with the newest update to Minecraft:

• New Caves & Cliffs Mobs: The Glow Squid, axolotl, and Goats.
• Caves & Cliffs Blocks: Up to 91 new blocks are being added to the game. Amethyst, Azalea, Copper, Calcite, and much more!
• The wandering trader has been updated – Blocks from the cave biomes that can’t be found or are hard to obtain can be traded with the wandering trader.
• Rework of Ore textures to make them visually distinct for colorblind players.
• Ore animation when mined – Ore blocks now drop raw ore.
• Deepslate – A dark-gray stone that can be found deep below the surface. Deepslate can be used to craft 19 different blocks in total.
