New Weapon: The Spear

The sword and axe finally have a rival. The Spear is a new weapon designed specifically for keeping enemies at bay and rewarding momentum. It features two distinct attack modes that change depending on how you move.

Mechanics & Attacks

 
• The Jab: When standing still or moving slowly, the Spear performs a rapid, long-range poke. This keeps creepers and zombies at a safe distance, further than a standard sword swing.

 

• The Charge: This is where the “Mayhem” begins. If you are sprinting or riding a mount, the Spear deals velocity-based damage. The faster you are moving when you strike, the harder you hit. This makes jousting on horseback a viable and devastating strategy.

Pro tip: Because the Charge attack scales with velocity, you aren’t limited to just horses. Try combining the Spear with an Elytra dive-bomb, sliding across ice, or using a Potion of Swiftness. The game calculates your raw speed at the moment of impact, so get creative with your movement to maximize damage!

The Lunge Enchantment

To compliment this new playstyle, the Lunge enchantment has been added. Exclusive to the Spear, this enchantment propels the player forward upon striking, allowing you to close gaps instantly or chain attacks together while moving through groups of mobs.

New Mobs and Mounts

• Zombie Nautilus: Despite its eerie appearance, the Zombie Nautilus is completely passive. The real danger comes from the trident-wielding drowned that often ride atop it, turning this gentle deep-sea drifter into an unexpected escort for a deadly foe.

 

• Nautilus Armor: A rare armor found only in treasure chests, shipwrecks, and ocean ruins. It can range from copper to netherite, and lets you toughen up your Nautilus for the dangers lurking in the deep.

The Camel Husk & The Parched

The desert biome has become significantly more perilous, transforming into a zone of danger even during the daylight hours. You will need to keep your eyes on the horizon, as these new threats are designed to wear you down through attrition and durability damage.

 
• Camel Husk: Don’t let its decayed look fool you – Camel Husks are actually passive creatures. The threat comes from the duo riding them: a spear-wielding husk and a parched passenger, both eager to attack anything in their path.

 

• The Parched: A new skeleton variant riding the Camel Husks. They wield bows tipped with Arrows of Weakness, making it difficult to fight back if you get surrounded. Unlike regular skeletons, the Parched do not burn in sunlight.

Zombie Horses

For years, Zombie Horses were a myth in Survival Minecraft, obtainable only through creative spawn eggs or console commands. That changes today. They now spawn naturally in the world, appearing in small groups across the plains and savannas. They are often ridden by zombies wielding the new Spears, creating dangerous cavalry units you must defeat or outrun.
