In ARK: Survival Ascended, the survivor level cap is a customizable server setting that allows you to adjust both the maximum levels and the experience required to level up. By default, the maximum character level without ascension is 105. However, by tweaking this setting, you can push your character’s potential to new heights. In this guide, we will explain some examples of how to increase the level cap and where to integrate it into your server configuration to improve player levels in ARK.

Creating the ARK Level Cap Code

To increase the maximum level, you need to modify your .ini files, which are accessible through the config files in your web interface. Follow these steps to access and modify the game.ini file of your server:

1. Navigate to the config files section in your web interface.
   
2. Locate and open the game.ini file.
   
3. The code should be placed under the following bracket:
   [/Script/ShooterGame.ShooterGameMode]
   
4. You must create a code entry for each level. Here is an example of how to structure your custom code:
   LevelExperienceRampOverrides=(ExperiencePointsForLevel[0]=5,ExperiencePointsForLevel[1]=10,ExperiencePointsForLevel[2]=18,ExperiencePointsForLevel[3]=32,ExperiencePointsForLevel[4]=52,ExperiencePointsForLevel[5]=65)

Important Note: You must add a new code line for each level. For example, if you want the maximum survivor level to be 150, you need to add the following line 150 times, specifying the experience required for each level:

(ExperiencePointsForLevel[1]=10,ExperiencePointsForLevel[2]=18………ExperiencePointsForLevel[150]=888450)

Ensure to close the code with a parenthesis at the end.

Engram Points Per Level

After adding more levels to your ARK server, you may also want to increase the engram points a player earns at each new level. To do this:

Stop your server:
Edit the ARK levels code in your game.ini file, adding this line for each level-up:OverridePlayerLevelEngramPoints=0

It is important to add the engram points generated per level, for each level added to your server.

ARK Levels Common Issues

When setting up new levels for your server, keep the following in mind to ensure your new level cap functions correctly:

• Ensure the server is stopped when making any changes.
• For any ARK-level code, the code must be placed under the “[/Script/ShooterGame.ShooterGameMode]” section in the game.ini file. If not, the code will not work.
• The experience point limit is set to 100,000. Using a value higher than this will break the code and cause it not to work.
