Dune: Awakening Server – MOTD & Ban List Setup

As your Dune: Awakening server grows, managing your player community becomes more important than ever. With our newly released features, you have the tools to communicate with players and moderate the server without any hassle. First time hearing about that? No worries!

We decided to implement a Message of the Day (MOTD) and Player Ban List based on feedback we received from players. Both of these features will help you build an even better Dune: Awakening community. Whether you set up custom announcements or quickly punish troublemakers, you now have the power to do that on your web interface.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through both features and how to use them on your server 🔥

Creating a Message of the Day

1. 1. Head towards your Nitrado web interface, then navigate to Settings > General to the left side of your screen.

1. 1. Locate Message of the Day and enter your custom message in the text box.

1. When you’re finished, click Save Changes at the bottom and Restart the server.

Using the Player Ban List

1. 1. Head towards your Nitrado web interface and navigate to Tools > Player Management to the left side of your screen.

1. In the Players list, find the user and click Ban Player on the right side.</li
   
2. Proceed to fill out the Ban Reason & Ban Duration, then press Ban Player at the bottom.

4. Afterwards, the player will receive a 2 minute warning before getting banned – no server restart required.

If you wish to remove or edit existing bans, navigate to the Bans list from the Player Management page. In this area, you’re also able to ban a specific player via their Funcom Account Hash. As an added benefit with this new feature for your Dune: Awakening server, you can also make players admins from the lists.
