The launch brings full crossplay support, meaning you can team up with friends regardless of whether they build their longhouses on PC, Xbox, or PS5.

The Valheim PS5 release date lands simultaneously with the official 1.0 launch across all current platforms on September 9, 2026, ending the Early Access era. Console players gain access to the complete experience from day one, including all previously released biomes and gameplay overhauls.

How Crossplay Works for PlayStation 5 Players

Crossplay is managed seamlessly in-game via a simple crossplay toggle and join codes.

• Console players simply enable crossplay in their online settings to join mixed-platform servers.
• World hosts generate a unique Join Code to share with friends across different systems.
• Dedicated server listings remain fully searchable via IP address or the community server list.

Note: Crossplay is enabled by default on dedicated servers, allowing seamless connections across PC, Xbox, and PS5 players without extra configuration.

How to Play on Valheim PS5 Servers

Running your world on a dedicated Valheim PS5 server ensures your Viking settlement stays online 24/7, even when the host logs off. PlayStation 5 players can connect directly to private dedicated servers without hassle.

Joining Your Nitrado Server from PS5

1. Open Valheim on your PS5 and select Start Game.
2. Select your character and navigate to the Join Game tab.
3. Choose the Join IP option at the bottom of the screen.
4. Enter your Nitrado server’s IP address and Port number, then select Connect.
5. Input your server password when prompted to enter the world.
